Q) The deluxe version of your album No Skips is out now. What went into deciding to add live and acoustic versions to it?
A) It’s outtt!!! Ya, I already had an album release show planned and i knew it was going to be epic so we decided to video/audio record the whole thing because why not and ended up being so sick so we decided to throw a few of them on the album and call it a deluxe! heaven knows I tried – acoustic was a late add-on, but just felt right. 🙂
Q) The acoustic version of “Heaven Knows I Tried” is BANANAS! What kind of fan reaction have you been to receiving to it?
A) Ahhh thank you so much! People love that song and I love that song. There’s nothing better when you write a song from the depths of your heart and people are moved/encouraged/changed by it. Such an honor, thank you God.
Q) Do you have a favorite song(s) off the deluxe version of this album?
A) RIP and LIAR go so hard live. Gotta give it to those.
Q) You are headed out on tour with Colton Dixon this Spring. What can fans expect from a live bodie performance?
A) I am! I’m packing in as many songs into my lil twenty minute set as i possibly can! My shows are always high energy and unhinged. If the crowd isn’t sweaty by the end of my set, I will usually cry in catering afterwards. just kidding but not.
Q) What song(s) off the deluxe version of No Skips will you be performing while on tour?
A) “NO SKIPS,” “RIGHT PLACE,” “RIP,” “LIAR” and “whisper and the wind!”
Q) The last time we chatted you mentioned your dream collabs would be Post Malone, Blackbear, Dominic Fike, Justin Bieber, Sueco and Billie Eilish. Are there any others you’d like to work with in the future?
A) Lately I’ve been really hyped on some artists in my close orbit that I’m hoping to work with soon…like Strings & Heart, Jon Keith, Hulvey, Tenroc…Man, I could list so many. Love what’s going on in the Christian music space right now. New wave and a new sound.
Q) You recently launched the “Lovesick” Christian Alternative Music Festival, which was a dream of yours for ten years. What did it mean to you to see it finally come to fruition?
A) I am SO proud of what we were able to accomplish in just about a month of planning. It’s actually mind blowing. [laughs] The show was so intentional and executed so well, from the lineup curation, to the merch and VIP experience…I’m just really proud. Children in need were sponsored through World Vision, multiple people dedicated or re-dedicated their lives to Jesus and hundreds of people went absolutely bananas for four hours straight. It was lit. 2027 gonna go even crazier.
Q) As a celebrated songwriter, what advice would you give to upcoming artists just starting out making music?
A) Never forget why you started. Don’t do it to get famous or to puff up your own ego. Remember that your art has the power to change people’s lives. Take inspiration from others, but never directly compare or copy. Only let a small circle speak into your art; people who are actually qualified and whose opinions you actually want to hear. And for my Christian song writers: cling to Christ…without Him, any success is meaningless and selfish.
Q) Have you headed back into the studio to work on some new music or is your current focus touring for the time being?
A) Oh yes. Pre-save for my first single “OBSESSED” off my 2026 project is LIVE (**as of 3/10). Super stoked on all the songs I have coming this year. Best yet… truly. Be ready. Gonna be a really good spring and summer for anyone who likes my music.
