Q) How would you describe your sound?

A) I describe it as whatever I’m going through really. It’s continually changing depending on my human experiences, but it’s definitely pop with some sugar and spice in the mix.

Q) Tell us a little bit about how “not over getting over you” came about? Is it true that this song was inspired by an Adele song?

A) Yes! The song sparked from me belting out “Someone Like You” at 11pm and decided to post it on TikTok. After that I felt really inspired as the lyrics and song in general actually hit me differently. Ten years ago, when it came out, I used to sing and play it all the time as a sixteen-year-old, but now being twenty-six years old I was like damn I can relate to this now and that’s when ‘not over getting over you’ was born.

Q) The song tackles very beautifully the evolution of a break-up and the healing process, when you write songs like ‘not over getting over you’, do you need lyrics first or do you work off a melody and build from there?

A) It’s different for every song. This one, specifically, I think I started playing some chords on my Midi and then the melody and lyrics literally came out like word vomit and I shocked myself because it all happened so quickly I was like…Did I just write a verse and pre-chorus in five minutes?

Q) How much creative control did you have over producing “not over getting over you?”

A) Too much!! [laughs] If I don’t have creative control over the production then I won’t feel as connected to it! By the end of it I think Jonathan wanted to strangle me. I kept changing my mind on instrumentation and extra things I wanted to add each time. Jonathan [Karkar] is such an incredibly passionate producer to work with and is always thinking out of the box also. I wanted the song to start just like the arpeggio chord in “Someone Like You” so the audience could experience what I experienced the night I listened to the song and wrote the first part of the song.

Q) You are a part of social media. What kind of fan feedback have you been receiving to the song?

A) Everyone has been giving me incredible feedback on the song. Most of the comments I have received have been that “I need this song when I was going through my break up,” “I connect to your song so much” and “thank you for releasing this.” Feeling very grateful that my inner thoughts that I put to some melodies are touching people. [smiles]

Q) Will there be a full album or EP coming out soon?

A) I really hope so. I have so many songs. It’s a matter of getting the right team together and getting some more financial assistance to do so. Some may say not to say this in an interview, but I’m going to be as real and raw as I can be. Being an artist is expensive.

Q) Who would you love to collaborate with on a song in the future?

A) Bruno Mars. HANDS DOWN. And probably Selena Gomez (since I grew up watching her and have always felt connected to her).

Q) What do you hope listeners take away from exploring your music?

A) I hope they take away that life is a journey. There’s so many lows and highs, but that’s the beauty of life and what a thing to be able to feel both of those things. That means you’re living!! I hope they feel empowered by my stories, and it helps them heal in some way or another. As for my more upbeat music that will eventually be released, I hope it makes you dance and feel good!!!

Q) What advice would you offer to those just starting out in the music industry?

A) Find a great team. Hustle, research and learn how to do everything as much as you can. Write in a journal and look back once in a while, you may get inspired!

Q) What would you like to say to the fans and supporters of your music?

A) Thank you for backing me from day one and continuing to share, listen and love the music I release. I will forever be grateful for you.
