Q) How would you describe your sound?

A) I would describe my sound as a blend between Afro-Beats, Dancehall and R&B/Pop.

Q) Who are some of your musical influences?

A) Some of my music influences are Drake, Tory Lanez, Wizkid, Burna Boy, Davido, Usher, Chris Brown, Ty Dolla Sign.

Q) Talk about the story behind your new song “Glow Up.”

A) The story behind “Glow Up” is about the women in my life such as family, friends, cousins, entrepreneurs, etc. who I saw come into their own and boss up. Seeing these women grow and glow into their own helped inspire this song. I wanted to put this into a record and create an anthem that women can listen to, dance to and feel confident.

Q) How did you come to feature Keesh on the track?

A) I knew I wanted a female rapper on this track since it is a dope female anthem. Keesh is one of the hottest upcoming female rappers in the city and I felt that she would be perfect for this type of record as she exudes confidence and has a high skill level in her rap. She is someone who is multifaceted as she is not only a rapper. She is also a mother/fashion designer, and, in my mind, she is the definition of a hard-working GLOW UP girl.

Q) What do you think it is about the song that fans connect to?

A) I feel my fans connect to the song because of the lyrics and the empowering message behind it which my female fans connect too. The upbeat rhythm of the song also naturally makes you want to dance; it’s a perfect record for the summer.

Q) How does the video for the track play into the message behind it?

A) The video plays into the track because it shows a woman who is glowed up and showing her confidence throughout the video.

Q) What is your song writing process?

A) My song writing process is usually me going to the studio with my engineer/producer Tony Range who then creates a beat from scratch with my input/direction of the type of record I want. We then come up with a theme/song title and then we start coming up with melody/writing song.

Q) Do you need music before you can create lyrics?

A) I don’t always need music to make lyrics, but I feel the best music I make is when there is music involved.

Q) Tony Range lent a hand with the production on “Glow Up,” but how much of a say do you typically have with the production side of your music?

A) I have a say in everything I do. I was sitting with my producer Tony Range while he made the beat and gave him my input along the way letting him know what I like/don’t like. I knew for glow up I wanted a futuristic sound/beat and I knew the instruments I wanted for this beat to be different. This helped challenge my producer and he delivered!

Q) Will there be a full album or EP coming in the near future?

A) My latest EP Ladies Love is out now so make sure ya check that out. There are seven back-to-back bangers on the project. My next project (EP) will most likely drop in 2023.

Q) Where are some of your favorite places to perform and what makes those locations so significant to you?

A) I love to perform any and everywhere to be honest. I just love being on stage. But I would say performing at larger venues with a larger audience has been my favourite so far.

Q) Who would you most like to collaborate with on a song in the future?

A) I would love to collaborate with the 6 God Drake himself.

Q) You are a part of social media. Why is that such an important way for you to connect with your fans?

A) Social media is very important. In this day and age every artist needs an Instagram account, TikTok, Twitter, etc. as all these forms of media are more ways to engage and stay connected with your fans.

Q) Your “No Fear Movement” clothing brand is incredible! Where can people go online to check out your pieces?

A) Thank you for thinking that my brand “No Fear Movement” is incredible. I appreciate it. The clothing brand can be found on my website which is bugattibonsu.com/shop

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who is a fan and supporter of you and your work?

A) The support I receive from my fans and supporters is what keeps me motivated to keep going on this musical journey despite the obstacles. I consider my fans/supporters as my family as I love them the same way. I want to say thank you to all my fans and supporters for helping me throughout the years.
