Q) How would you describe your sound?

A) I’d say my music is a combination of many sounds, ranging from upbeat pop to more dark and vulnerable sounds. Since acting is a big part of me, I like to tell stories through my songs which gives my music a more theatrical sound.

Q) Who are your greatest musical influences?

A) I have a LOT! I love discovering new bands and artists that haven’t received a lot of recognition yet. But in terms of mainstream artists, I would definitely say that my music is heavily influenced by Demi Lovato. I’ve been inspired by her a lot lately because of her incredible voice and transparency in her music with her fans. This is something I want to do as well, so my fans can relate to it and make their own connections to my music. Movie score composers such as Danny Elfman, John Williams or Hans Zimmer are also some of my greatest musical influences that give my music a theatrical vibe.

Q) Tell us the story behind the single “Witch of LA.”

A) It’s a funny story actually. I made this song in about an hour. The melody and the beat just randomly came to me and I thought of writing something completely different from what I usually write about. I’ve always been very interested in the supernatural world, so I didn’t hesitate to write a song like this. My friends and I would sometimes joke about me being a witch because I find the supernatural world fascinating. After I finished it, I felt quite silly showing it to my producer because I thought he was just going to laugh at it, but it turns out he loved it! This song was the first stepping stone for the entire EP Welcome to Camieland. It opened a door I never thought I’d open, but I don’t have any regrets!

Q) What was the most challenging part of creating the track?

A) There wasn’t really a challenge in creating the track. It was a very exciting process! I’d say this particular song was the smoothest to make since I was able to write it in less than an hour.  Once my producer was on board, we both knew exactly how we wanted the song to be.

Q) Is there an album in the works and if so when can fans expect to hear it?

A) This is the 3rd song of the EP Welcome to Camieland. It will be followed by two more songs coming out in early January.

Q) What are some of your must-haves while you are writing music?

A) My piano, my guitar, my notebook, my laptop and of course a good cup of Colombian coffee to keep me energized. Depending on the time of day, sometimes I’ll substitute a coffee for any type of candy (I’m addicted to candy).

Q) Originally being born and raised in Colombia, in what ways have you incorporated your home roots into your music?

A) In my culture we have a lot of folkloric myths and legends. I grew up hearing a lot of these tales and I still believe some of them to this day (especially those about witches and ghosts). So, I guess that plays a big part in the way I write and how I see the world today.

Q) If we went out to karaoke, which songs would be your Top 3 go-to picks to perform?

A) “Rolling in the Deep” by Adele, “Bohemian Rhapsody” by Queen and “Don’t Speak” by No Doubt.

Q) Who would you love to collaborate with in the future?

A) I would love to sing alongside Sia, Billie Eilish, Demi Lovato and Dua Lipa.

Q) Along with music you also have a passion for acting! Are there any film or television projects coming up that you can tell us about?

A) Yes! I played the lead in an independent feature film about two years ago and I just got the news that they are finally finishing it! I was losing hope since I made it so long ago, but I guess it is still happening so I’m pretty thrilled about that. It’s a really good film and I can’t wait for everyone to see it.

Q) Have you thought about combining your love for music and acting to pursue musical theater?

A) Back in Strasberg (where I studied acting), I was part of a few musical theater productions. Moulin Rouge is one of my favorite movies EVER! There’s nothing I would love more than to be a part of it!

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who are fans and supporters of your music?

A) I would tell them to stay tuned for more music coming out very soon and to use their imagination to go as far as they can!
