Q) How would you describe your sound?

A) It is a mix of many styles of music, but we try to keep a very Nu Metal roots.

Q) Who are some of your musical influences?

A) This is really varied. We have different influences in the band, and we like to mix it. It varies between heavy metal, Nu metal, Electro, Pop… We like to take inspiration from bands like Deftones, Sevendust, Genesis, Queen or Michael Jackson.

Q) Talk about the story behind your new song “My Wonderland.”

A) This song is very old. I wrote it about ten years ago when I was playing in another band with CK [Smile], but we never used it with this band. One day he said to me “Hey, do you remember this riff?” and we thought that this song would make a good single with some arrangements.

Q) What do you think it is about the song that fans connect to?

A) I think many people identify with the lyrics. Or they like this kind of music that sounds like a steamroller.

Q) What is your song writing process? Do you need music before you can create lyrics?

A) CK and Valery [Veings] compose the lyrics of the songs when the instrumental arrangements are completed. But CK composed his vocal line during the arrangements.

Q) How much of hand do you have in the production of your music?

A) I compose the foundation of the songs and then we do the arrangements with CK, Greg [Turini] and Valery. It’s teamwork and it’s necessary that all members of Chaoseum can add their ideas to have a good stuff.

Q) Your album The Third Eye is out now. What are some themes you explore on it?

A) This album is mainly about death but under various aspects… Like the end of an era, the end of a relationship or death in a fantasy way

Q) What tracks challenged you the most creatively or lyrically on the album?

A) For me Sanctum Cinerem, Unreal, Dance on My Grave

Q) You recently performed your song “My Wonderland” at Frauenfeld Rocks. What was the fan response to hearing it live?

A) Oh yeah, indeed. It was an amazing festival, and the people were really hot during this song. Circle pit and headbanging was here!!

Q) What do you hope listeners take away from listening exploring The Third Eye as a whole?

A) That the Swiss know how to make something other than watches or chocolate

Q) Where are some of your favorite places to perform and what makes those locations so significant to you?

A) We like to play in festivals because the atmosphere is always incredible.

Q) Who would you most like to collaborate with on a song in the future?

A) I would like to work with Andy James on a solo or a featuring with Max Cavalera. I think it would be an incredible experience.

Q) What album/band are you currently listening to and why do you dig them?

A) I’m currently listening to Revolution, Revolucion by Ill Nino. I really like the rhythmic and drums percussions of this album.

Q) You are a part of social media. Why is that such an important way for you to connect with your fans?

A) Yes, it is necessary because people spend a lot of time on Facebook or Instagram. All the information is available quickly and I find it very easy.

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who is a fan and supporter of you and your work?

A) Stay tuned because 2023 is just beginning and many surprises are coming.
