After making the decision to leave Los Angeles and head to New York, Simone (Nabiyah Be) has made it to the Big Apple! Using the address that Bernie (Ayesha Harris) gave her, Simone stumbles upon a club with an unassuming door. When she tells the bouncer (Idra Kayne) that she’s there for Bernie, she’s admitted in and learns that Bernie is a DJ working at a gay club. Bernie is pleasantly surprised to see her, but also has a surprise of her own for Simone: a record of Simone’s vocals that she has been playing frequently for the clubgoers….and she is a hit amongst the crowd.

As Simone and Bernie begin a physical relationship, Simone is excited to spend time with Bernie at the club yet reluctant to be openly affectionate. But Bernie continues to push Simone out of her shell, especially when she finally gets Simone to take the microphone and sing her song live for the crowd. The audience continues to eat it up and so does Simone. One morning in their apartment, Simone admits to Bernie that she wants to keep their relationship low-key….but Bernie doesn’t feel that they need to hide amongst those just like them. With Simone singing her one song, she realizes that she needs to record another song for the fans.

In 1976 Simone records “Last Night Together” and with Bernie’s help, they begin to press records to distribute to DJs around the city. Quickly, Simone becomes a disco sensation with up to four shows a night in clubs and roller rinks around the tri-state area. Through her music, Simone finds the ability to share what’s in her heart with her audience.

But while she is riding the high of her success, Simone gets a call from Teddy (Tom Wright). Apparently, Daisy (Riley Keough) missed the record release party for Aurora and is missing. Simone has kept in touch with Daisy here and there, but it is a telegram that she receives one night after a show in the city that has Simone packing her bags: Daisy needs her to come to Greece. Deciding not to let Simone go alone, Bernie accompanies her on the trip.

Upon reaching the island of Hydra in Greece, Simone and Bernie find Daisy’s home and learn that Daisy is well and good. Instead of being in trouble, Daisy needed Simone to be her maid of honor as she is getting married. Warily, Simone and Bernice are introduced to Daisys fiance, Nicky Fitzpatrick (Gavin Drea), a student and part of a family of non-ruling sovereignty in Ireland. While introductions are made and Nicky prepares dinner, Daisy begins to gush about Nicky and how he is unlike anyone she has ever met. Coincidentally, Nicky is also unaware of Daisy’s rise to stardom with The Six.

Not convinced that Daisy is making the best choice, Simone approaches Daisy the next morning for a chat. Simone learns that Daisy is not planning to return to the U.S. and produces a copy of Rolling Stone Magazine from her bag, proud that Daisy made it in her career. But Daisy does not see it that way, grabbing the magazine and stashing it in a drawer in the house. She is haunted by Billy’s (Sam Claflin) words to her about being “wasted talent” and a “icing on the cake.” Instead of allowing herself to wallow in the pain that Billy inflicted, Daisy continues to push forward with Nicky.

The next day at a party hosted by Nicky’s friends, Simone notices that Daisy is surrounding herself with a group of artists who have no desire to pursue careers for the masses. While disillusioned by Daisy’s new friends, Simone gets some alone time with Bernie and Bernie tells Simone that she’s in love with her. Later in the party, Daisy also learns more about Nicky from his friends: he lost his parents a few years back in a tragic accident. On the way back to their villa, Daisy asks Nick about his past and in turn shares her sordid history with Billy. Nicky is very empathetic towards Daisy but a tinge of insecurity emerges when he makes sure that Daisy’s connection with Billy is gone

On the day of the wedding, Simone has another talk with Daisy about her jealousy over what her friend has accomplished: a successful career. Still adamant that Nicky makes her happy, Daisy goes through with the wedding to Nicky. Later, present-day Daisy admits she has many regrets in life…but not that day. Seeing her friend happy and in love, Simone decides to take the leap and asks Bernie to dance with her. While they dance, Simone finally admits that she loves Bernie as well.

During the night portion of the reception, Nicky decides to speak with Simone and she urges him to tell Daisy to return to her music career. Nicky tells Simone that Daisy is happy and that is what matters. When Daisy comes up and Nicky offers her acid, Simone realizes that Nicky is more like Daisy and potentially not the influence that she needs.

The next morning, Nicky twists his conversation with Simone and convinces Daisy that Simone is in love with her. When Simone goes to leave and join Bernie on the trip back to the US, Daisy tries to push Simone to stay….clearly Simone is ready to get back to her life at home. Simone also pushes Daisy by saying that she is scared to see Billy again, to which Daisy throws Nicky’s accusations of love at Simone. Upset by Daisy’s actions, Simone grabs her suitcase and heads to the dock.

Daisy catches up to her to apologize, but Simone reminds her that she loves her because is willing to be honest about how selfish Daisy is being by staying in Hydra. When Daisy heads back to the villa, Nicky has seen the Rolling Stone cover and encourages Daisy to go back to the states with him accompanying her. Once back in Los Angeles, Nicky hears “Regret Me” on the car radio and begins to wonder how much he really knows about his new wife.
