In the aftermath of her overdose the night before, Daisy (Riley Keough) wakes up in her hotel room to an overly attentive Nicky (Gavin Drea). As Nicky goes about daily business of ordering breakfast and starting the day, Daisy remembers the night before and notices a bandage on her arm. This prompts Daisy to head to Billy’s (Sam Claflin) room to gets answers while a panicked Nicky tries to stop her. There, Billy explains that the doctor got the drugs out of her system and that Nicky fled during Daisy’s overdose. Enraged, Daisy confronts Nicky and tells him he needs to leave. Nicky refuses, but quickly changes his tune as Daisy throws a lamp at him and her bandmates emerge from their hotel rooms to back her.

Without the drugs to pull her through, Daisy has a big of a struggle onstage but manages to power through. But at night with the party bus in full swing, Daisy finds herself heading over to Billy’s bus to escape. Hating that Billy saw her in such a vulnerable position, Daisy and Billy have the most honest discussion about their demons. That night, Daisy asks if she can spend the night on Billy’s bus, to which he agrees. The next morning, Billy calls Camila (Camila Morrone) to tell her what happened.

Deciding to cope with her drug use on the road, Daisy starts creating rules that will help her curb the excess.  In the interim, this seems to assuage any withdrawals or cravings. On stage when Billy advises Daisy to take a break, she instead embraces her near-death experience and channels the energy into the show.

While the band is riding the highs of touring, things start to unravel. Eddie (Josh Whitehouse), Karen (Suki Waterhouse), Warren (Sebastian Chacon), and Graham (Will Harrison) find themselves at a punk rock show one night. Watching the band, Eddie realizes that the music is bound to take a different direction when the lead singer of the band tells him he recognizes Eddie as his sister listens to them. The band reaches New York for their performance on “Saturday Night Live,” but Daisy begins to panic as she realizes that she does not have her pills on her. Billy manages to talk her down once more, and the performance goes off without a hitch. After their performance, Daisy and Billy see that Teddy (Tom Wright) has come to see their performance and to also catch up with Simone (Nabiyah Be). When Teddy asks Daisy if she has spoken to Simone, Daisy remembers that their last interaction in Greece was anything but pleasant. In a recording studio where the SNL performance is playing, Simone is offered the opportunity to sign with Attic Records. However, she will have to sacrifice one thing for the label to agree: hiding her relationship with Bernie (Ayesha Harris).

Riding high off their performance at the afterparty, Warren approaches the SNL host Lisa Crowne (Lily Donoghue) and decides to shoot his shot. Apparently, Lisa reciprocates the flirtation. Daisy and Billy are also excited about their performance, but the excitement is short-lived once Teddy collapses from a heart attack and must be rushed to the hospital. The entire band heads to the hospital to wait for Teddy’s diagnosis. While there, Daisy and Billy find themselves in the chapel talking about their belief in God. Billy believes that God must exist if both him and Daisy managed to make it this far in life. Rod (Timothy Olyphant) comes in to tell them that Teddy has woken up and can have only one visitor at a time. Billy heads in first while Daisy heads back to the waiting room and tearfully greets an upset Simone. The women use the opportunity to repair their relationship.

After the hospital scare, things calm down as the band heads to Boston and Billy and Daisy repair their relationship. While sneaking out to grab food, the two talk about a new album but find that they have no material to work from. Daisy admits she may have a song she has been tinkering with, which prompts Billy to get the check so they can get to work. Back at the hotel, Daisy plays “It Was Always You” for Billy and finds that she does not like what she has created.

For Karen and Graham, their relationship is riding high…until Karen realizes she is pregnant. Graham is excited about the prospect of being a father. But for Karen, she has never wanted to be a mother and does not want to back away from the rock and roll life for a domestic role. Even though Karen seems like she has made up her mind, Graham asks her to consider their options.

From Boston, the band finally heads to Pittsburgh to play a stadium show on their home turf. While the band members head to greet their family members, Daisy finds that she is a little alone…until the OG Ms. Dunne (Lynn Downey) brings her in for a warm hug. At the new and improved Dunne residence, the band has a welcoming party of sorts with one unexpected guest…their former bassist Chuck Loving, DDS (Jack Romano). Chuck tries to make it seem that he has taken the more stable and financially sound route, but it’s clear in later interviews how jealous he was that he didn’t stay in the band.

As Eddie purposely avoids Camila at all costs, Camila decides to spend time with Daisy….who is having fun playing with Billy and Camila’s daughter Julia (Naya Kodeh). Daisy loves children but is reluctant to have her own as she doesn’t want to be like her mother. Camila assures her that that is the reason she will make a great mother and not to count herself out just yet. After their conversion, Camila heads towards the house and finds an upset Karen….realizing the situation and embracing the keyboardist.

That night in bed, Camila proposes that her and Billy try to expand their family to give Julia a sibling. Billy is on board with the idea and ready to start right away. One room over, Daisy overhears their conversation. In a later interview, Daisy admits that she finally realized in that moment what she wanted.

At their show in Pittsburgh, the band plays to a crowd with thunderous applause. They have finally made it! However, things begin to unravel when backstage before Eddie’s moment to shine on guitar, Billy asks to take his number and leaves an angry Eddie in his wake. Rod tries to calm Eddie down, but it seems he is having none of it.

That night, Karen tells Graham she is going to stay at the hotel while he spends time with his family. Graham tries to join her, but Karen is persistent that he stay with his mom.  The next morning, Camila drives Karen to the clinic to terminate her pregnancy, which Graham does not know about.

While everyone is falling apart, Billy and Daisy are bonding the next morning over a crossword puzzle. As Daisy and Billy see themselves together in different ways in the future, Daisy admits to Billy that they should be together. Billy admits feeling the same way but will not leave Camila and Julia. Unbeknownst to both of them, Camila witnessed their exchange.

On the plane to their next show, the tension is thick. Warren is excited about his hot celebrity girlfriend. Eddie feels slighted about the Pittsburgh show. Camila tries to play it off that she is fine but is still thinking about Billy and Daisy’s exchange. And a clueless Graham is not aware that Karen has had an abortion. Rod comes onto the plane to announce the next stop and coincidentally their final show: Chicago.
