Q) Describe your character Paulina Calderon from “Bosch: Legacy.”

A) Paulina is a strong Latina woman entering into law enforcement as a rookie cop. She is fresh out of the academy but does not have the novice personality to go with it.

Q) What made you want to portray this character?

A) Well, of course her strength, strong presence, even though she is new to the force she carries herself with confidence. Secondly, since my parents were police officers, what a beautiful moment for my career and my family to see myself play one on screen.

Q) Tell us what we can expect to see from your character’s storyline this season.

A) You are going to see Paulina and Maddie (Madison Lintz) learning the ropes of the job, and through trial and error putting their hearts into their work.

Q) Since your mother and father both worked for the NYPD, what knowledge did you gain from them to prepare for the role

A) I learned a lot of prep work, which I would do before set regarding a sense of energy that I needed to bring forth for this job. In particular from my mom, how a woman police officer would approach a situation versus a man.

Q) How did you physically prepare for this role?

A) I have always been very much into martial arts and boxing. I grew up in that lifestyle, so being physical comes natural to me. But I also did dive into a bit of stage combat fighting, as moves are placed very different based on camera angles.

Q) What can you tell us about the friendship Paulina will have with Bosch’s daughter Maddie?

A) I can say there is a friendship brewing, off screen Maddie and I are the best of pals.

Q) Will there be instances that we get to see Harry Bosch and Paulina interact? How well will they get along?

A) Ah! What an amazing dream that would be!  We would have to definitely tune in – as the story develops anything is possible.

Q) What were some of your most memorable moments from working on “Bosch: Legacy” or favorite episodes to film and why?

A) I would have to say being around Maddie, the cast and crew. Everyone is so talented and supportive of each other. Secondly, learning from the team on “Bosch” how to portray a cop as truthfully as possible.

Q) What do you think it is about the “Bosch” series that continues to make it such a fan favorite show?

A) “Bosch” is such a well-rounded show from the story to the cast, crew, as well as the precision of making it as close to real life on the job as possible. It’s a masterpiece honestly and deserves all the awards!

Q) What was your experience like working on “This Is Us” as Rebecca’s nurse in its final season?

A) Omg. I am beyond grateful to be cast on another phenomenal show. Just being around an all-star cast like that was such a “pinch me” moment.

Q) What other projects may you have in the works?

A) Right now, I am still focusing on TV and film and working to portray a plethora of diverse roles. More important, I feel most passionate about seeing Latina women in different characters and not being type cast into one type of role. So, bring on the cream of the crop roles. I am ready!

Q) What would you like to say to fans of you and your work?

A) I would love to express my upmost gratitude for being a fan and supporting my career. My focus is to always inspire and uplift, especially the younger generation. Always remember if I can do it so can you!
