The episode starts at Sierra Maestra Mountains on October 16, 1962. Two soldiers get an alert directed towards them that something has landed near. They go see and think is a false missile, but is one of the pods containing an alien. We go to the Waverider where an alarm is also going off which wakes Nate (Nick Zano) up. He asks Gideon (Amy Louise Pemberton) what´s going on, but it was not her who activated it. It seems that Rory (Dominic Purcell) did. He runs into Zari (Tala Ashe) in the hall and can´t stop looking at her.

Most of the Legends get to the meeting. Spooner (Lisseth Chavez) is working out next to a very stoned Behrad (Shayan Sobhian). Ava (Jess Macallan) says it´s early, but Rory has good news – he had a hit on the alien that kidnapped Sara (Caity Lotz) in 1962. They go in after they forget Behrad, but the plan does not go unnoticed. They start a shootout and the box where they think the alien will be contains a warhead Soviet SS-4 missile instead and they are in Cuba.

We go to the White House where President John F. Kennedy (Aaron Craven) is informed by General Kilgore (Nic Bishop) he is giving him a photo of the Waverider making them think that the Soviets have a new bomber. The Legends make another plan with Ava at the head of it this time. She sends Mick and Spooner to return the missle to the Russians but it´s not so easy. While she and Behrad infiltrate as doctors Zari and Nate do the same at the White House. JFK invites Nate to the meeting with Bobby (Preston Vanderslice) already inside. It goes wrong because JFK calls for a DEFCON 3 anyway.

Ava is getting ready to start a vivisection, which is what they are calling the procedure they are about to do on the unconscious alien at the table. She makes an incision and blood comes out. Behrad runs outside to throw up, but is mistaken for Che Guevara instead and taken to see El Comandante Fidel Castro (Tim Perez). Ava is able to get everyone high from nitrous oxide and takes the alien, but it wakes up and shoves her against a wall. Mick shoots the Alien and takes her to the Waverider with Spooner´s help.

Back at the White House it´s intense. JFK is trying to decide if they should strike Cuba. Zari starts to write a direct order for DEFCON 2 which she sabotages and the President´s team with Nate´s help are able to stop General Kilgore from starting a war. Fidel has the missile and it is preparing to launch. He gets a call from Che and it blows Behrad´s cover.

Rory and Ava get into a discussion and he orders him to kill the alien. They go back for it, but Spooner starts to get a headache which means it is close. They find her near the missile and she is trying to get home. They try to communicate with her and make a deal to help her get home if she helps them finds Sara. So, they take her to the ship. Ava apologizes to Rory and he explains the plan. He´s going after Sara alone, leaving the Legends with no option but to go stay at Constantine´s (Matt Ryan). A big discovery at the end of the episode turns out that the alien is actually Kayla (Aliyah O´Brien).
