In Hell a train comes barreling down the tracks carrying all the products that seem to be outdated but were once trendy. As the products are being unloaded from the train, the workers are questioned as to why they have not finished unpacking the boxes from the train. The reason for the delay is due to the person who has provided a rather large part of the recent shipment: Gwyneth Paltrow has arrived in Hell due to drowning in her bath of tortoise semen. Unwilling to let her stay, the workers wave the train on and send Gwyneth on her way.

The Devil (Alan Tudyk) arrives with Beans (Asif Ali) after the hold-up and admires all the new arrivals in shipment. Obviously interested in Gwyneth’s book about forgotten ankle tattoos Volume 3, Devil grabs the book and vows to get the other volumes as he walks off. Upon arriving back in office The Devil becomes extremely interested in the fidget spinners and commands that one of his employees works with the fidget spinner and comes up with some finger games in training. Beans starts to reflect on when God (Jack McBrayer) gave the Devil the opportunity to run hell.

In a flashback from 6,000 years ago, we finally meet God as he sits at the head of a table with other demon-like creatures in varying colors. Rather than looking human, God is a yellow blob-like human figure interested in creating Heaven as a place for all things perfect and beautiful. When he starts to point out some more interesting aspects of Earth’s creations such as dinosaur bones and women’s monthly visitors, the Devil is the culprit behind them. The Devil believes that providing some intriguing features on Earth will make it more interesting but God is not impressed.

Fast-forward to Hell now where the new items are being unveiled by McKinley (Fred Tatasciore). The latest product unveiled is the shake weight, which citizens consider lame and start to walk away from the ceremony. Beans starts to consider more about how The Devil was considered for his position. That night while in bed Beans sees that the movie Star Wars: The Rise of Luke Skywalker is premiering at Fords Theater. While he may have been a fan of the movie, he quickly realizes that the movie may have been considered terrible and runs to the theater in his pajamas to stop the viewing. The theater explodes before he gets to the doors and Beans later learns from The Devil that it was due to a gas leak. The Devil tells Beans to lighten up and starts to talk about the work they have put into Hell so that God will be proud of him. Unfortunately, God has yet to return any of Devil’s calls.

In another flashback, God is pleased with his creation of Heaven and is ready to greet his new residents. Peter (Maurice LaMarche) introduces the first two residents and God is happy with their contributions and positive nature. Unfortunately, the third resident is less than perfect and Peter reminds God that there are no other places but Heaven and Earth created.

Realizing that he has more work to do, God then creates Hell and barely puts in any effort to create it. With rocks and lava surrounding everything, God then creates demons and tells them to keep the place clean and make sure that he does not need to come down here for any reason. When it comes who should run the place God decides to send The Devil down here, claiming that this is a promotion. In present-day Heaven God muses how not even Hell wants Gwyneth Paltrow.
