Mrs. Dickinson (Jane Krakowski) is cleaning the house when Austin (Adrian Enscoe) walks in. Apparently, he is hosting a tea party but has no idea how to do that and needs help. So, his mother offers to throw it for him. Edward (Toby Huss) coming from upstairs asks what something is while pointing to how Austin can not take care of himself. And Mr. Dickinson already has a meeting planned for that day.Mrs. Dickinson says that she is the best housekeeper and that she can organize both parties.

Austin goes to talk to his father. Edwerd says he invested in the news paper with Samuel (Finn Jones), Austin is surprised and skeptical about it. He does not trust him and that the decision should have been through him as he is a partner in the firm. But Edward says he only made him a part of it because he´s his son. Someone´s at the door – it´s Sam with news. It seems omeone put together a little army and tried to raid the federal arsenal down at Harpers Ferry. So, Austin goes to find Henry (Chinaza Uche) at the barn to warn him about the incident. Henry breaks the news that he´s leaving Amherst.

Sue (Ella Hunt) went to visit Mary (Marié Botha) as she misses her. They were close before. They start talking about remembering things they used to do and how they spend the summer. Mary is having a hard time keeping up with Sam. Mary implies that an Amherst lady must´ve caught his eye and that´s why he spend so much time away from home. Mary reveals that she and Sam were going to have a baby girl, but she had a miscarriage and has been recovering from the trauma. Sue tells her that she went through something like that  and they bond. Mary goes to hug her.

Austin´s party is currently being held at his house. All the boys are there: Ship (Pico Alexander), George (Samuel Farnsworth), Toshiaki (Kevin Yee), Archibald (Joey Odom) and someone else named Frazar (Will Pullen) who hasn´t arrived. We later learn that he´s “Nobody!” They are talking politics and about how a war may be coming, which is also what the other meeting hosted by Edward is discussing.

Lavinia (Anna Baryshnikov) and Ship are in her room doing some role play representing the women he has been mentioning all season, Lola Montez.

Emily (Hailee Steinfeld) is at Austin´s door. She is feeling down and says that needs to be around people, so he invites her in for tea. She keeps having flashbacks of Sue and Sam having sex, so she pulls up a chair and sits in front of the fire. She starts reciting a poem. Someone´s knocking again. She opens the door and it´s Nobody/Frazar, Austin´s friend. She starts to freak out and has another flashback with him getting shot and tells him that he´s going to die and that he needs to get out of there. But Frazar has no idea what she´s talking about

Emily can no longer hold it and tells Austin that Sue betrayed him. She cheated, but he´s not surprised as he knew about it for weeks. She thinks he knows everything and without planning it she tells him about Sue´s miscarried baby. He did not know that so he´s trying to pull himself together in front of the fire. She says that he´s not a fraud and that he´s the most genuine person she knows and that she needs his love to survive.

She runs into Frazar again and apologizes for earlier. He tells her that he loved her poem, but she says that she did not want to be published, not completely at least. He says, “In that case, you better get your poems back.”
