Q) How would you describe your sound?

A) Bold, punchy, intoxicating.

Q) Who are some of your musical influences?

A) Alanis Morrisette, Amy Winehouse, MIA and Elton John to name a few.

Q) Talk about the story behind your new song “flowers & sex.”

A) I struggled for a while to ask for what I wanted sexually and beyond. My best friends Teddi and Bea really encouraged for me to speak up and I got to this place where I was confident enough to. It was definitely inspired by my sex life. I found a partner who I am comfortable with and around asking for what I need. It seems simple, but as a woman I’ve been so suppressed in my own desires and basically taught everything was about pleasing men. I’m proud that I reached this point of unlearning on personal level; it feels amazing. I wanted to show up as that confident person in my music and inspire others to be that person. I never want to stop being her. On the songwriting side of it, I brought my friend Rez some flowers to the session and that sparked the entire idea.

Q) The song went viral on Tik Tok. What do you think it is about the song that fans connect to?

A) I think the bluntness and the unapologetic energy, especially right now as the world starts to open up, I think a lot of people just want flowers and sex and a fun song to dance to.

Q) What is your song writing process? Do you need music before you can create lyrics?

A) I usually freestyle melody and lyrics at the same time and sometimes the lyrics come out perfectly and other times I have to go back in and give it lyrical surgery. I often try lots of things and mix and match until I find the best pieces that fit together. It’s good to challenge your own ideas, too.

Q) How much of hand do you have in the production of your music?

A) I’m very hands on in the room. I usually write the chords and construct everything with a producer. I love constructing the drops, especially because the drops I have in my songs are my vocals chopped up. I love using the human voice as an instrument. It creates so much emotion. I started teaching myself Ableton and Logic over quarantine, so I’m excited to be producing more of my own music in the coming works.

Q) Will there be a full EP or album coming in the near future?

A) I have something like that in mind! I’m starting with singles and videos and will follow that with a body of work.

Q) Where are some of your favorite places to perform and what makes those locations so significant to you?

A) I’ve only been on one tour, but some of my favorite venues were Meow Wolf, which was unlike anything I’ve ever seen and so trippy. I liked performing at Hotel Café. It’s such a local LA gem. There are lots of LA venues I’m hoping to perform at that I haven’t gotten to yet.

Q) Who would you most like to collaborate with on a song in the future?

A) I’d love to work with Starrah and/or Wondagurl. I love my guys, but I need some women collaborators in my life! Charli XCX is a dream collab for me or just anyone with bad bitch energy.

Q) What album/band are you currently listening to and why do you dig them?

A) I really love the new Elohim album. She’s so cutting edge and has great energy.

Q) You are a part of social media. Why is that such an important way for you to connect with your fans?

A) It’s important because I get to have control and share content as who I actually am, and my audience gets to see another dimension to the brand and music. It’s a really unique thing that didn’t use to exist in the music industry but that now controls it completely. There are ups and downs to it, but I wouldn’t be where I am without it and I’m really grateful for the community and fans that I’ve connected to because of it.

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who is a fan and supporter of you and your work?

A) You have changed my life and all the support just motivates me to keep going. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, for everything!
