Evanora:Unlimited – Perfect Answer

Q) How would you describe your sound?

A) I wouldn’t; I think describing someone’s sound is a terrible thing in general. Listen to my discography I make everything from acoustic ballads, industrial punk, dancehall, rock, to Bay Area and varying other genres of rap, shit I even have a few country songs unreleased. I could describe the sound of a specific single song but to describe “my sound” as a whole wouldn’t really make sense.

Q) Who are some of your musical influences?

A) My friends back from home I grew up listening to; Cherokee, King Heem, Daemon, HR Moni & Double, 333evol, Talk Show and HiHelga to name a few of far, far too many. Other than that, you can find much of what I listen to in my artist playlist linked to both of my Spotify pages “Evanora’s Infinite Playlist,” which is genuinely my personal playlist I use and add to almost every day. [smiles]

Q) Talk about the story behind your new song “Sequoia Tide.”

A) The song lyrics are an adaptation of a poem written by the mother of my recently deceased brother and best friend Will (Hzalen) Greyland. The instrumental was a cut production from Yves Tumor’s “The Asymptotical World,” which is the only song on Perfect Answer I wasn’t involved in producing.

Q) What do you think it is about the song that fans connect to?

A) It’s repetitive as fuck, relatable and #fromtheheart

Q) What is your song writing process? Do you need music before you can create lyrics?

A) I usually write the song as standalone poems beforehand completely separate to being a song then the lyrics will sit in my notes sometimes for years. Over time, separately I produce stuff also standalone then randomly the puzzle pieces will click together exactly when they are meant to and make something that paints a picture that makes perfect sense.

Q) Yves Tumor produced a track on this album, but how much of a say do you have in the production of your music?

A) The album was produced by me and collaboratively with various friends, which are seen respectively credited on each song.

Q) Please tell us some themes you explore on your sophomore album Perfect Answer.

A) One thing I noticed after piecing together the album was that there is a consistent theme of Sea or Ocean references. Almost every song from the lyrics to the song titles; “Salt Water,” “Maritime Photosynthesis,” “Sequoia Tide,” “Sea Cliffs,” etc. This wasn’t intended at all. It happened completely by accident, but since noticing this I have found meaning in it; however, I’m still not sure of It exactly. Maybe it has something to do with my partner who is the daughter of a sailor and grew up on the sea in Croatia. Maybe it just stems from my fear of the ocean and its power, who knows lol maybe its meaning will be made clear to me soon.

Q) Which tracks on this album hold a special significance for you and what makes them a standout to you?

A) Very hard to choose but lyrically I would say either “Marine Photosynthesis” or “No Country” being the lyrics still feel very significant to my current life whereas much of the other songs lyrics feel more so just captures of past lives or the meanings have changed from their initial meanings. Production wise, I would say “Propeller Blades” feat. Maria M & RockangelZ. This song holds a lot of significance to me because the instrumental was the first “Evanora Instrumental” I ever produced back in 2018 while still in high school which sat until I recorded it in 2022 – the first time I went to Warsaw in an abandoned military bunker turned decerped music studio / mephadrone den. It was meant to be on my first album but was cut due to not really knowing yet how to do vocals on it. This is a good example I feel like of what I talk about a lot in terms of creatively giving in completely to “flow state” in all areas of process as well as life. I feel like while that song was “meant” to be on the Lustful Expanse LP, for reasons unknown to me till 8 years later, it was truly meant for this project.

Q) Was there a particular song that challenged you the most creatively?

A) No, it was all very easy and flowed naturally.

Q) What songs off Perfect Answer are you looking forward to performing live?

A) I think “No Country” is my favorite to perform from the album from the album, It always sends me into full on psychosis.

Q) What do you hope listeners take away from listening to your new album as a whole?

A) Whatever they want. I mean, I really don’t hope or care for them to take anything away from it. I make music to communicate with my loved ones and for myself to listen to and no one else, but if they are able to create their own meanings from what I make and the specific and hyper personal references situations and whatnot. If not, and only I can understand, then that’s beautiful. <3

Q) What can fans expect from a live Evanora:Unlimited performance?

A) Pure soul, passion and unfiltered violence.

Q) Who would you most like to collaborate with on a song in the future?

A) Lil B, Lana Del Rey, Drake, Cherokee, Idaho Jadoe, Don Sinini, LMFAO, Young Roka and a album intro by John F. Kennedy in the afterlife if he fucks with the vision.

Q) What artist/musician are you currently listening to and why do you dig them?

A) Alot of Yatta and other bay area artists and the music of friends from back home, I haven’t been to the Bay in a long time since I moved to Europe and started to travel, I feel home sick a lot. But listening to the music I grew up with and the music of my friends helps me feel at home wherever I am.

Q) You are a part of social media. Why is that such an important way for you to connect with your fans?

A) I hate social media with every ounce of my soul. I just don’t really have a choice in the matter like everyone else. The only thing I do like about social media is that I can use it to conduct massive psy-ops, convert people into cult members, conduct social experiments and for internet performance art.

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who is a fan and supporter of you and your work?

A) Thank you for supporting me to be truly free and live completely off doing all the things I used to get in trouble for.
