Q) Who are some of your musical influences?

A) Some of my musical influences are Prince, Anthony Hamilton and Miguel. I have a great respect for these artists and their music.

Q) What is your thought process when writing songs?

A) I like to create music that matches my moods and can be played in everyday life. When writing, I love to listen to tracks in my car or on my headphones and create songs as I’m moving throughout my daily life.

Q) What are some themes you explore on your new EP?

A) A theme is definitely love and relationships.

Q) What made you decide to release “My Baby” for your first single from your new EP QuaRNB

A) I released “My Baby” because the theme of that song is toxic relationships. When the quarantine first happened, every toxic relationship came to the forefront because we were forced to slow down and pay attention to what was happening and what really is important.

Q) How would you say “My Baby” sets the vibe for your new EP?

A) I think that the song sets the vibe because the beat and the melody are undeniable. Lyrical content is really important to me too, so that also is a strong part of the songs and EP. People can expect rich harmonies with melodic substance.

Q) What songs are you most excited about on the EP?

A) Honestly, I’m excited about all of the songs because together they all present their own vibe. Each song has a mood and place on your favorite playlist!

Q) What do you want your listeners to take away from your music?

A) I want my listeners to know that there was great thought and intentionality in each song. I work really hard to create a balance between a vibe and lyrical content. R&B, to me, reflects the culture and gives people a feeling when they listen to it. I hope that listeners experience that when hearing my music.

Q) Who would you most like to collaborate with on a track?

A) Pharrel! Hands down, he’s one of the most creative artists/producers that I would like to collaborate with.

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who are fans and supporters of you and your music?

A) Thank you! I truly have been supported by my fans and supporters from day one and I couldn’t have made it this far without their support. My recent single “Black Man” made it to #10 on the R&B chart on iTunes which was a huge accomplishment for me, especially with me being the only independent artist on the chart. I don’t really like referring to people as fans. I’m more so the cousin you had that you never met in person yet.
