We open with a flashback of Hetty (Rebecca Wisocky) coming back home to her father Samuel (Douglas Sills) after presumably being out having fun. Unfortunately for her, the man has already discovered that she has been sneaking out to meet with a young artist as he found a painting that the man had made of her where she could be seen brazenly showing her ankle (what a scandal!). Back to the present, Sam (Rose McIver) announces that she will spend the weekend in Chicago attending to a dear friend’s bachelorette party, but Alberta (Danielle Pinnock), Trevor (Asher Grodman) and Thor (Devan Chandler Long) do not seem to agree with that all because it would mean that no one will be there to assist them. Even though Jay (Utkarsh Ambudkar) will stay, he is not able to provide any type of support since he cannot see them. Jay also takes the chance to announce that his sister Bela (Punam Patel) and her boyfriend Eric (Andrew Leeds) will come to spend the weekend with them so he does not have to be on his own sharing the house with a bunch of ghosts.

Meanwhile, in the other room Hetty has offered herself to be Isaac (Brandon Scott Jones) and Nigel’s (John Hartman) wedding planner and she has spent some time with them offering some tips about the event. Pete (Richie Moriarty) comes in while they are still discussing about it and the whole thing reminds him of his own wedding, which causes some happiness in him until he was hit by the reality in which his wife had cheated on him with his best friend. Back to the planning, when Hetty brings out the budget topic, she is surprised when realizing that Nigel has already started referring to Isaac’s money as “theirs,” causing her to doubt Nigel’s intentions. The group is interrupted by Jay who communicates that he has set a table with different types of wedding cakes for them to evaluate, but Hetty’s mind is already busy with something else. Later on, Bela and Eric show up delivering some great news – that Eric can see ghosts! It seems like since their last visit to the mansion and after almost had let his body to be possessed by Trevor so he could have sex with Bela, Eric has developed some “skills.” The man does not look entirely comfortable when asked to show his new acquired abilities by naming the ghosts in the room, but he obliges. Unluckily for him, Trevor, Alberta and Thor have now joined them and are quick to realize that the man is lying when he started naming ghosts that are not even there. The worst part is that they can’t even let Jay know about the charade Eric is putting up.

Hetty is still convinced that Nigel might end up ruining Isaac’s fortune if she does not do anything about it so she tries to talk to him about the chance of a possible failure in his marriage using Pete and Sas’ (Román Zaragoza) love lives as an example. Pete suggests that maybe he can ask Nigel to sign a prenup in case the marriage doesn’t work out so he does not end up losing half of his fortune in the process. Hetty finds it to be a great idea. In the meantime, Jay, Bela and Eric are having some fun in the living room when Eric excuses himself to get some beers. Jay is happy to see that his sister has found someone good for her and also expresses how it is a relief for him to have someone who understands him now that they share equal circumstances with their partners. They are in the middle of the conversation when Sam surprisingly walks in saying that her flight was canceled due to bad weather so she won’t be able to attend her friend’s party anymore. Eric returns from the kitchen and he freezes in his spot when seeing Sam in the room; the other two do not waste any time in confessing about his new ability and the woman seems to be happy for him until Trevor, Alberta and Thor show up saying that he had been lying all along. Sam takes her husband to the kitchen and confesses what the ghosts told her and then Eric walks in trying to explain himself and saying that he just wanted to have something that would make Bela feel proud of him but he is willing to come clean now. Jay admits that this is the happiest he had seen his sister and he’s certain of how good he is for her so he and Sam agree to play along with the lie and end it gently so Bela would not feel hurt and the way they plan to do it is for Eric to fake fall and lose his “power” as a result of it.

Isaac talks to Nigel about Hetty’s suggestion on signing a prenup in case their marriage doesn’t work and, apart from what he might think, Nigel is more offended about the fact that his fiancé thinks so little of their marriage before even starts so he says that maybe they should not carry on with it. Hetty and Sas show up and Nigel rushes to congratulate her for sabotaging their wedding. In the living room Eric and Bela are enjoying each other while he tells her about an earlier encounter with Flower (Sheila Carrasco) in the hallway while some of the ghosts listen to him lying again. Sam and Jay join them bringing some snacks with them. Eric sees the opportunity to put his plan in motion so he pretends to have to pick something from upstairs just so he can perform his great act. When he is gone, Bela appears to be quite doubtful about Eric mentioning to had run into Flower when she was notified that the woman had been sucked off. Jay and Sam are forced to tell her the truth but, unfortunately, they don’t do it soon enough to stop Eric from letting himself fall through the stairs breaking his fibula. They take Eric to the living room in where he intends to apologize to Bela but she is disappointed on him and storms off the room.

Sas takes Hetty to the basement where her old painting could be found and reminds her of the time where she was forced to choose money over love and how unhappy that made her so she begins to understand what she has been doing to Isaac and Nigel all along. Bela is now in her room still mad about the recent situation. Jay and Sam enter her room to apologize for what they did but she says that a good relationship cannot start off based on lies so she won’t take Eric back. Sam sees this as an opportunity to share that sometimes a lie could does not have to end in tragedy and tells how she had pretended to live in the same neighborhood as Jay just to keep meeting him at the same coffee shop where they first met and as far as she sees, they have been doing well ever since. Right that moment, Eric walks in limping saying that he had requested a taxi so he’ll be leaving soon and takes the chance to apologize again to Bela who has now changed her mind based on what Sam has confessed and decides to give the man another chance with the promise that they won’t lie to each other ever again.

Later on, Isaac talks to Sam about his concerns and she advises him to follow his heart. Hetty appears with Nigel in tow and asking for forgiveness about her pity behavior and for letting her own issues influence their relationship. Nigel and Isaac decide to leave all of their doubts behind and move on with the wedding as planned.
