We pick up after the events that happened after the Halloween party in which Carol (Caroline Aaron), Pete’s (Richie Moriarty) widow, had choked to death. Now we see Jay (Utkarsh Ambudkar) standing next to the medical examiner Marvin (Brandon Knox) as he puts the woman’s body in a bag while Carol, herself, witnesses the whole scene in shock. Thor (Devan Chandler Long) sympathizes with her, but he is happy that at least she didn’t have to go through the same luck that he did and watch her own body decompose. Sas (Román Zaragoza), Pete and Hetty (Rebecca Wisocky) are also there watching the whole scene. Even though the idea of spending eternity with Carol is not truly appealing for Pete, he is genuinely concerned about what this whole new process will be for her. Hetty tries to joke about the situation in an attempt to put Pete’s mind at ease and help him think clearer while Jay works hard to convince Marvin that the donut hole with which Carol choked did not belong to them.

Unfortunately, Carol’s death was not only an inconvenience for Pete but also for Jay and his restaurant since the only investor he had decided to pull out as soon as they found out that somebody died on the property. Jay wastes no time in getting his contractor Mark (Tristan D. Lalla) up to speed about the news and this one lets him know that if he doesn’t get a new investor in the next couple of weeks, the restaurant will never see the light. Luckily for them not everything appears to be lost since Sas suggests that maybe they can borrow Isaac’s (Brandon Scott Jones) money, which had been given to him as an advance for a biographical book he has been writing, and continue with their plans. Sam (Rose McIver) serves as an intermediary for this negotiation to what Isaac immediately agrees since he sees this as an opportunity to do something he had declined to in the past when he was offered to invest in a bar. Everything seems to be settled until Trevor (Asher Grodman) interrupts them and recommends Isaac not to invest his money in a business that is constantly changing. Therefore, the captain withdraws his offer immediately.

In the meantime, Pete has taken charge in showing Carol everything she needs to know about the afterlife; he still seems to be somewhat uncomfortable with her presence there but tries to manage nonetheless. He explains that despite not being alive they can do pretty much everything they used to. Things are going very well until someone brings up that they can even date and have sex in the afterlife which awakens Carol’s curiosity to her asking Pete about his romantic situation. The man turns evidently nervous, but he doesn’t want his wife to know that he had remained faithful to her despite her cheating on him, so he feels compelled to lie about his current dating situation but not wanting to reveal his lover’s name. On the other hand, Hetty and Sas appear to be more interested about what is Carol carrying in her purse and persuade her to go along with them to give her a tour around the house in order figure it out themselves. When Pete is left alone with Alberta (Danielle Pinnock), Thor and Nancy (Betsy Sodaro) he asks for either of the women help to fake date him but they refuse to do it.

Sam and Jay are now discussing about taking Isaac’s money from his account without letting him know about it; right that moment the ghost walks in them saying he has changed his mind and has decided to help them but feels offended when he finds out they were going to steal the money from him and decides not to invest anymore and leaves. Unfortunately for all of them, it appears that soon they will have no reason to fight over when Jay realizes that the bank account has been cleaned out. Sam and Jay follow Isaac and apologize to him for what they were trying to do and inform him that there is no money left but then Trevor shows up saying that he has been doing some investments and now the money has multiplied. Jay gets excited at this thinking about all of the things he will buy for the restaurant, but Isaac stops him right in his tracks saying that the money is still his and he will not support him.

Hetty and Sas are persistently chasing Carol until she confesses about the candies’ she has in her pursue which only grows the other pair of ghosts’ curiosity about what it tastes like; the woman throws the candy at them but it bounces back to her and they realize they won’t be able to taste it unless the owner is holding it so they are already looking for ways to make that happen. Pete walks in offering to take Carol for a walk and the woman wants to know if his girlfriend will join them; the question takes him by surprise so, feeling pity of him, Alberta decides to jump in and play along saying she is Pete’s girlfriend and apologizing for telling her sooner but they wanted her to adjust to the afterlife first before throwing all of that information at her.

Later that day, Sam and Jay apologize again to Isaac who is still hurt by the couple’s actions but decides to forgive them when Sam offers him not only to become Jay’s partner but to also have an input in everything concerning to the restaurant. Isaac wastes no time in start requesting some changes to be made including the place’s name and soon, ends up annoying Jay who now fully declines to become the ghost’s partner and saying he will take the money anyway given that Isaac does not even exist anymore. That night, Sam tells Jay that Isaac was truly upset about everything he said which leaves the man thinking and leading him to read the captain’s biographical book to get to know him more.

Carol is still curious about Alberta and Pete’s relationship wanting to know all the details possible about it to what they bluntly lie about; after a while, Alberta leaves and Nancy comes in completely unaware of what has been happening and pretending to be Pete’s girlfriend too, making Carol confused who is quick to express out loud that she thought that Alberta was the actual girlfriend so Nancy is forced to change her story confessing that she is Pete’s mistress. When Pete and Carol are finally left alone, the woman volunteers to advise him about how to cheat on others without been discovered -based purely on her experience watching soap operas – something that makes Pete’s mad knowing her background.

A new day has arrived and with that, a new hope for everyone at the mansion. Jay calls for the ghosts – especially for Isaac – to follow him to the area in which he plans to build the restaurant and shows him the display he has set inside. He tells everything he has learned about his story and shows him the table that will always be available for him and his friends at the center of the place, something that truly moves Isaac making him decide to become his business partner.

Meanwhile, Pete has gone tired of pretending; pretending that he is dating Alberta and that he doesn’t know Carol cheated on him so he decides to come clean accusing her of being a terrible person. Later on, he goes to see Alberta and apologizes for dragging her to his drama but she feels nothing but proud of him for standing out for himself. Suddenly, his arrow starts to itch so he takes it out of his neck and starts to massage it to find some relief while Alberta starts watching all of this in slow motion resembling to one of these shampoo commercials which means that something has changed and now, she has started to seeing him under a very different light.
