Ghosts – Woodstone’s Hottest Couple

By  |

Now out as a happy couple with Trevor (Asher Grodman), Hetty (Rebecca Wisocky) is eager to make plans with the other couples of Woodstone…except with Thorfinn (Devan Chandler Long) and Flower (Sheila Carrasco). While Sam (Rose McIver) listens to Hetty avoiding making plans with the resident Viking ghost, Jay (Utkarsh Ambudkar) returns home from his two days in the city. While visiting New York, Jay apparently spent time with his friends on some serious Dungeons and Dragons game time. Pleased to have him home, Sam lets Jay head upstairs to unpack and freshen up.

But unbeknownst to Sam and the ghosts posted outside of the bathroom door that Pete (Richie Moriarity) is gate-keeping, Jay and Mark (Tristan D. Lalla) are inside oogling Jay’s recent purchase on Mark’s behalf during his city trip: a pair of Windstorm Ultra 5s. Jay waited hours in line to procure them for Mark, which Mark is grateful for. While Jay originally stashed them in the bathroom upon his return to Woodstone, he decides to take them up to the attic to give them a proper hiding place. Unfortunately for Jay, his secret hiding place becomes not so secret as his entrance into the attic awakes none other than Stephanie (Odessa A’zion).

While Thorfinn continues trying to get him and Flower on Hetty’s schedule, Stephanie comes down to make an appearance. Even though Stephanie asks about what she has missed in the past year, she becomes rather bothered to learn that Trevor is officially off the market and that the other ghosts have started pairing up. Bummed about the recent events, Sam decides to go talk to Stephanie while she is in a room sitting next to Jay. With Sam’s knowledge of 80’s films, she tries to use a “Sixteen Candles” reference to calm Stephanie. Jay also tries to assure Stephanie that everything will be fine, which seems to make Stephanie feel better. But when Stephanie bumps into Nancy (Betsy Sodaro) in the hallway, her getting over the happy couples entails one thing: causing drama to break them apart.

Stephanie puts her plan into action. At first she plays to Trevor’s potential boredom over a double-date with Isaac (Brandon Scott Jones) and Nigel (John Hartman). When Trevor leaves the room for his date, she then approaches Thorfinn and Flower about their lack of common interests. This leaves the couple scrambling to find things in common to keep their relationship going. For Sam, she lures her up to the attic to grab her another blanket for her bed, knowingly exposing Jay’s sneaker purchase and receipt.

During his and Hetty’s double date with the Revolutionary couple, Trevor becomes bored and uninterested with their talk of tea. Hetty tries to bring Trevor into their conversation but finds that Trevor’s knowledge of Snapple does not hold up to their discussion. The mood of the date immediately sours.

While Jay is preparing food with Pete, Nancy and Stephanie looking on, Sam comes in to find Jay and get him to admit about his sneaker purchase. Jay tries to play it off that it was only D&D gametime, but then confesses that he was also in the city to interview for a head chef position at his old restaurant. The turn in confession upsets Sam as Jay knows that she cannot live in the city anymore due to her paranormal abilities. Jay understands that, but tells Sam that he sometimes misses the city and his old life. As he leaves the room, Stephanie admits how she created the chaos to cause conflict with Woodstone’s couples.

As Trevor laments to Sasappis (Román Zaragoza) and Pete about his issues with settling down with Hetty, Pete tries to convince Trevor that “couples stuff” is good…despite his bitterness over his wife. For Hetty, she has a similar conversation with Isaac and Nigel at how the date was a disaster. Each of them realize that things may have been easier when they were sneaking around.

Sam is manning the front desk when Mark comes into Woodstone. She hands him his sneakers and tells him that they can no longer hide them in the attic due to an owl. It is at the mention of owls that Thorfinn and Flower have found they do have something in common. They keep talking about potential hiding places at Woodstone and when the barn is mentioned, Sam gets an idea.

Later, Sam, Jay, and Mark head out to the barn. There, Sam pitches the idea of renovating the barn for Jay and turning it into a destination restaurant at Woodstone. Jay loves the idea but questions where they will get the money for their venture. Mark mentions that won’t be a problem if he and Jay go in as business partners.

Sam returns to the main house and finds a depressed Stephanie. While trying to destroy other couples, she is bummed that there are no other teenage ghosts on the premises…but Nancy quickly solves that. Taking Stephanie downstairs, she introduces her to Ralph (Tyler Alvarez). While at first not interested, Ralph taking off his glasses magically makes him appear much hotter to Stephanie and she takes him into an upstairs room to get to know one another and make out.

It appears that all the couples are back to normal…for now. Sam and Jay make up. Thorfinn and Flower have found an interest they both enjoy. But then the ghosts hear a commotion in the hallway, finding Trevor and Hetty fighting. Apparently the domesticity has officially ended and the two have called off their relationship….or so they make everyone believe. But behind closed doors, Hetty and Trevor continue their tryst in private once more.
