Q) What are the recent projects that you are working on?

A) “Mayans M.C.” for FX, “The Deuce” for HBO and “Too Old To Die Young” for Amazon

Q) We’re currently seeing you on “Mayans MC.” What made you want to be a part of the series?

A) I’m a fan of “Sons of Anarchy” and once I heard “Mayans” got picked up I really pushed for it. It being an all Latino cast is something really special and important to me.

Q) Were you a fan of “Sons of Anarchy” before joining this spinoff?

A) Yeah, I’m still a fan so it’s exciting to see the world grow and to be a part of it. I get excited about the “SOA” characters we get to see in our world on “Mayans.” It’s really cool.

Q) How was your character Nestor Oceteva originally described to you?

A) Head of security for the cartel. Cold blooded, but not too desensitized so he can still feel emotions.

Q) Was there anything you added to Nestor that wasn’t initially in his breakdown?

A) Two braids and yellow shades

Q) Who were you most looking forward to working with on the show?

A) Other than the legend Edward James Olmos, I was excited about working with Elgin James.

Q) You were the lead singer of a band before becoming an actor. What sparked your interest in starring on screen?

A) At first, I thought it was about staying sane and occupying my time between tours, but as I got older I realized it was about being a storyteller. It always has and still is. It’s just a different medium now.

Q) What advice would you give to up and coming actors and actresses?

A) It’s a marathon not a sprint.

Q) What would you like to say to fans and supporters of this new show?

A) Gracias.
