Give Me A Reason – Sad

By  |

Q) How would you describe your sound?

A) Modern Pop-Punk, energetic and happy. Sometimes it’s sad. Sometimes it’s funny.

Q) Who are some of your musical influences?

A) We’re listening to bands like Neck Deep, State Champs and Point North, plus many more on a regular basis. It’s funny because people have compared us to those bands which is crazy because we grew up listening to them, which is a honor.

Q) Talk about the story behind your new song “Sad.”

A) “Sad” is about people who want to hold you back and don’t want you to pursue your dreams. People keep saying that you’re not good enough to achieve what you always wanted to achieve. And you don’t wanna live like that.

Q) What do you think it is about the song that fans connect to?

A) The reason why we think fans can connect to the song is because they rely onto the fact which it doesn’t matter what kind of dream you have as there will always be people who try to push you back, which unfortunately everybody deals with especially amongst young people nowadays.

Q) How did you decide that the Super-Candy Pop Up Museum was the perfect place for the song’s video?

A) We came across the museum when we were browsing through Instagram and we thought it was perfect as it matches the color theme of our concept.

Q) How does the video for the track play into the message behind it?

A) We tried to create some 9 to 5 scenarios in which you hold yourself back instead of doing what you want. We don’t wanna say those jobs are bad cause we’re stuck in them ourselves.

Q) What makes “Sad” the perfect ‪Summer 2020 tune?

A) It’s catchy, it’s energetic and it gets stuck in your head so you don’t have any chance to escape it. [laughs]

Q) What is your song writing process? Do you need music before you can create lyrics?

A) What usually happens is that Mattia [Di Paolo] sits down and writes the fundamentals of the song and then checks with the rest of the band. But for this EP we co-wrote everything with Blake [Rose] in LA. And, yes, we’re normally writing instrumental first.

Q) How much of hand do you have in the production of your music?

A) 100%, but we gave our producer Blake Roses enough freedom and try some new things.

Q) Will there be a full album or EP coming in the near future?

A) Yeah, an EP is coming out this October. We’re very excited. We hope you like it.

Q) Where are some of your favorite places to perform and what makes those locations so significant to you?

A) Zurich because it’s our hometown and it’s where everything started, but it might change…

Q) Who would you most like to collaborate with on a song in the future?

A) We would like to collaborate with our friends from State Champs one day because they are absolutely amazing. That could be sick.

Q) What album/band are you currently listening to and why do you dig them?

A) We really dig the new Yungblud track. This guy is a genius.

Q) You are a part of social media. Why is that such an important way for you to connect with your fans?

A) Because it’s the only way in these times to connect with so many people at once.

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who is a fan and supporter of you and your work?

A) THANK YOU, WE LOVE YOU, STAY PINK AND STAY HEALTHY (we answered these questions with our socks on our hands)!
