Sam (James Denton) and Grace (Bailee Madison) discuss about the upcoming changes in the girl’s life when Cassie (Catherine Bell) walks in carrying a box that contains a painting that she found in her attic that shows the Posner’s Comet that is about to be seen again in only within a few days. Right after, Nick (Rhys Matthew Bond) joins them holding a camera since he has decided to start documenting everything about the Posner’s Comet. Cassie lets them know that old friends Victoria Merriwick and Charlotte Posner climbed to one of highest points in Middleton in order to chart the constellation when they thought they saw a shooting star and asked for a wish, but it turned out to be a comet. Only Victoria’s wish came true and Charlotte got to name the comet. As far as Cassie knows, not all wishes are granted.

Adam (Scott Cavalheiro) and Stephanie (Kylee Evans) discuss about the great reviews on their Monte Cristo sandwich. They are excited since the blogger Lisa Gold spoke highly about them, so they expect that the number of customers increase from then on. Later that day Cassie finds more boxes that contain a lot of Grace’s drawings from when she was younger. Sam can tell that something is not entirely right with Cassie, but the woman denies it.

Martha (Catherine Disher) walks into Stephanie’s bistro complaining about being tired of looking for a lock that can be open by the key that their ancestors left. As she is waiting for her food, she sees her husband Tom (Paul Miller) enjoying a breakfast with her long time rival’s husband, Davis Davenport (Rod Wilson). She approaches them and requests for an explanation, but her husband begs her to stop the rivalry with Dottie (Paula Boudreau) for once and for all. As expected, the woman refuses to do it.

Abi (Sarah Power) visits Cassie so she can give her some of her healing tea when Grace walks in. Abi sees a book called The Stars in Their Hearts and her cousin warns her that is a bit heavy to read so Abi dismisses it immediately. Cassie gives her the tea and when Grace gets distracted by a phone call Abi takes the book and hides it on her blazer. Grace tells Cassie that she was called to be notified that she is a Valedictorian and, although she is happy about it, she is also nervous about doing her commencement speech.

Sam and Cassie meet Doug Langfus (David W. Keeley) a Chicago cardiologist that is staying at The Grey House in an attempt to have a vacation (or so it seems). Paul shows up at the City Hall with flowers in hand in order to tell Martha that he has arranged a brunch with the Donovans so the two women can finally bury the hatchet, but the Mayor doesn’t seem to be so happy with the news.

Luke (Dale Whibley) and Grace go to the town observatory in order to drop the painting of the Posner Comet that Cassie has given them. They discuss briefly about their future and Grace tells him that she really wishes they’d have met sooner. Luke wants to try a long-distance relationship, but the girl tells him that she had tried and it didn’t work so well for her.

Martha and Donovan (Marc Bendavid) make an appointment to discuss future plans about the town, but the man seems to be distracted and Martha realizes that is all because of Abi. Since she cannot stop asking him about her, he decides to reschedule the meeting but the woman tells him that she knows a few things about the curse catching his interest since maybe she may know a way to break it. Grace is having a hard time working on her speech when George (Peter MacNeill) walks in holding a broken birdhouse. In an attempt to distract herself from the pressure that her commencement speech presents at the time, she suggests that her grandfather build a new one with her.

Sam is enjoying some time with Cassie when he gets a call from the hospital. Doug enters the kitchen looking somehow uncomfortable and when he hears that Sam has an emergency with one of his patients he offers to go with him. Later that morning Martha shows up at Bell, Book & Candle looking for a gift and Cassie suggests that a lemon grass and jasmine scented candle would be fine. Without revealing anything about the person Martha’s gift is for Cassie manages to figure out that is for Dottie and advises her that as long as the Mayor is willing to believe it, her rivalry with Dottie could be fixed.

Adam and Stephanie are ready to start another morning of work at their food truck hoping they have more customers due to their business reviews. A knock can be heard coming from the other side of the truck and when they open the window it reveals only three people waiting there, something that makes Stephanie disappointed. But then, when they look out of it, they see quite the line waiting to taste their famous sandwich.

Grace and George are working devotedly on the new bird house when Cassie and Nick enter the place; they start discussing about them leaving soon for college and Nick seems to be suddenly uncomfortable with the conversation making the decision to leave. Cassie pays a visit to Abi when the woman receives a letter from Donovan asking her to meet him at the well since he seems to have found a way to break the curse. Abi seems a little hesitant , but then Cassie tells her that she doesn’t know if there’s a way to break the curse though the curse is surely breaking her.

Martha pays a visit to Abi and confesses that she was the one who sent the letter. She tells her that she believes that if they toss a coin at the well the curse might be broken, but Abi says have already tried it and it did not work. Then, Martha tells her that maybe it was in the way she tossed it that it failed. She thinks that Abi must truly believe the curse can be broken in order to make it true.

Donovan is at Cassie’s shop looking for a book. The woman approaches him and he tells her that he does not believe anything about the curse. Then, a mirror falls to the ground. Cassie tells him that only if he believes that things can happen and that sometimes people needs to be reminded of what they truly believe in.

It’s finally time for the Tinsdales and Donovan to meet for lunch. They seem to be having a good time together. Tom and Davis pick up the dirty dishes leaving the two women alone. They recognize that they are finally getting along then until the conversation takes a different turn when they start to brag about their own accomplishments. Dottie offers a fruit iced tea to Martha and the Mayor offers her a peace treaty instead. Dottie agrees. When she leaves, Martha sees the crown that she claims Dottie stole from her and doesn’t seem to be so comfortable anymore.

The birdhouse is finally finished. George tells Grace and Cassie that he wanted to be an astronaut but there are some things that are just not meant to be and life puts you in better places instead. Cassie tells Grace that she’ll succeed in anything she wants but she needs to give herself a chance first. Sam and Doug are talking when Cassie walks in and is told what a great surgeon her husband is. Sam tells her that the other man has offered him a job in LA, but he said that he would think about it.

Abi is reading the book she borrowed from Grace when the girl arrives to give her some cookies. The girl suggests her cousin to wish on the comet, but Abi is not exactly a believer. Grace realizes about the book that her cousin tried to hide under the cushion and tells her that she will love the way it ends.

Stephanie and Adam are still busy feeding the customers and believe they might not make it to the observatory. Cassie walks in to check up on them and they thank her for being the person that suggested them combine their recipes. They also tell her that they don’t think they can end on time to go and see the comet. Then, with just one glance, Cassie manages to help them making the grill to stop working so they decide to take the night off.

Back at the Davenport’s house, Dottie finds Martha watching her homecoming crown and brags about it once again, but this time the Mayor’s response freezes her on her spot when saying that she has realized her invitation for lunch was just a side show that made her understand that she does not need to possess all those awards to make her happy.

Everyone is gathered at the observatory and getting ready to see the comet. When the time comes everyone makes their own wish. In the meantime, at Abi’s flower shop the woman is making sure everything is ready before she leaves when Dottie walks in saying that she wanted to thank her for breaking up with her son. Everyone is still at the observatory when Sam turns back and sees Martha asking for her wish. He then looks at her neck and sees the key hanging so an idea comes to his head. He takes Martha, Tim and Cassie inside and places the head of the key on the comet shown in Cassie’s painting. He lets them know that the other half of the key is pointing at the next clue: the old meeting house which (unfortunately) was destroyed years ago. So, they seem to be faced with another dead end again.

Cassie, Grace and George place the birdhouse in the garden and a bird that looks a lot like “Breezy” (the first bird that arrived back when they had built their first bird house) shows up. Cassie says that the bird knows that he can always go home. Cassie is about to take Abi to the airport when she receives a text from Martha saying that she needs to see her immediately. When Abi arrives at the City Hall she meets with Donovan who opens an umbrella, breaks a mirror and walks under a ladder to prove her that he does not believe in curses. He confesses that when she showed up in his life it was a sign of good luck for him. Abi still doesn’t know what to believe, but then she opens the umbrella too and says that if it’s bad luck then they’ll have bad luck together.

Back at The Grey House Cassie is having some tea while Sam plays guitar. Grace joins them saying that Luke got a full scholarship. Nick arrives and begins filming the whole situation. Sam says to Nick that the comet has gone, but they are still there so he can stop filming. Nick takes a chance and leaves the place, something that does not go unnoticed by Cassie who follows him. She tells him that she knows he is making good memories by filming everything and the guy tells her that he’ll miss the place a lot and thanks her for everything she has done for him and his father. Grace joins them saying that family is always going to be there for him. Nick leaves saying that he’ll upload the videos he has filmed. When mother and daughter are alone, Cassie assures Grace that her wish came true so the girl immediately knows that Abi and Donovan are back together. The woman also explains that Victoria wished for Charlotte to be happy and it also became true since it was a selfish desire.

Cassie goes back to the living room and sees Sam playing. He tells her that he has decided to turn down the offer Doug made him since he is happy just by being with her.
