Cassie (Catherine Bell) is planting some tulips in her garden when Sam (James Denton) arrives to tell her that the trip they had planned to Chicago will no longer happen since he has to attend to Dr. Jacobson’s (Dylan Taylor) surgery. But Cassie says he should not be concerned since she may know someone who may go to the trip instead. Donna (Elise Bauman) shows up at Abi’s (Sarah Power) flower shop to offer her services to remodel it and lets her know that she is Joy’s (Katherine Barrell) business partner something that surprises Abi. It seems like the two didn’t really like each other.

Stephanie (Kylee Evans) and Adam (Scott Cavalheiro) discuss about him leaving soon. He says that he still needs to figure out where to go, but all he knows is that he just wants to serve. Stephanie says that even though is sad that he’s going she knows that he’s going to change a lot of lives. Joy is arguing on the phone with someone over the wallpapers for Martha’s house that seem to be delayed in their delivery. Donna shows up with two cups of coffee and is welcomed by Joy’s bad mood saying that she has arrived late.

Martha (Catherine Disher) is at the bistro reading The Secrets We Know when Stephanie shows up and mocks her for being far behind in her reading for their book club. Cassie and Abi join them saying that they have finished their reading as well. Joy walks in angrily and tells them about the fight she had with Donna. Abi takes the opportunity to tell her that her friend tried to convince her to remodel her shop and makes clear that she doesn’t like her. Sam and Dr. Jacobson meet at the hospital and recall the first time they met. Dr. Jacobson seems to be proud about the surgery he will perform the next day, but Sam doesn’t seem quite convinced about it. He says he will try to be there anyway.

Joy and Donna are still working on Martha’s house when she arrives and is surprised to see that the Charles Holland wallpapers she ordered are not ready yet. So, Donna takes over and says that if she wants the job to be done immediately she may find some wallpapers that are not the ones she asked for or she can wait for the “real deal” and get the one she ordered. Martha’s seems to be surprised by the woman’s candor and agrees to wait for it while Joy looks at them mesmerized.

Back at Grey House Cassie gets a delivery from her old friend and mentor Olympia (Wendy Crewson). When she opens it, she finds a big rock in it and kind of smiles with a hint a nostalgia. Adam goes to Grant (Lindsay Owen Pierre) to tell him about him taking some time off to enroll as a missionary, but Grant demands him to give him a specific date for his return otherwise he’ll need to find his replacement. Adam asks if he is going to be fired, but all he gets from the chief of administration is that it will be a big loss if he goes.

Cassie is at her living room standing in front of the fireplace looking thoughtful when Sam enters. Cassie tells him about the gift her friend sent her before she died. She also explains that there wouldn’t be any funeral arrangements since it wasn’t Olympia’s style. Sam tries to cheer her up by making some chocolate chip pancakes.

The next day Cassie is at the kitchen when Donna joins her and gets excited when she sees the pancakes on the table. Cassie tells her that Joy made them and Donna is surprised about it. She takes one and puts some salt on it surprising Cassie. Joy then joins them and tells her that she always does that. Donna is about to start eating when Joy complains that she is not ready for work yet, but the other woman says it will only take her two minutes. Joy doesn’t believe her. It is evident for Cassie that Joy still has some hard feelings for Donna and tells her that forgiving her friend does not mean that she has forgotten. Joy says that the wallpapers she needs are only available at a store in Chicago and Cassie suggests she go there, but Joy doesn’t think is a good idea to spend a two hour ride in a car with Donna.

Sam is on his way to watch Dr. Jacobson’s surgery and meets Grant on the way. When they are about to enter the room Dr. Jacobson comes out in a haste saying that XR stopped calibrating and he can’t continue with the surgery. Grant suggests to reschedule it, but Sam says that he will walk him through it since he just cannot leave a patient that trusts in him hanging in there.

Stephanie and Abi talk about the situation of their own relationships and the chef says that it seems that they are the blessing and the curse. Martha enters and orders her lunch. Then, she is joined by Donna who has stopped by for two cups of coffee. While waiting she starts a conversation with Martha and ends up promising that the wallpapers will be done by the end of the day. Joy walks in and asks Donna why it is taking so long for her to get the coffee. Martha excuses her saying that she was stalling her but also mentions that she is happy that her wallpapers will be done the same day. This is something that surprises Joy since she knows is not true.

Martha and Stephanie are at Grey House waiting for the others to join for the book club discussion. Stephanie says she cannot believe that the Madame Mayor has only read two pages since the last time they talked. The other woman asks her to give her a summary of the book but immediately regrets it. Abi and Cassie joins them followed by Joy and Donna who gets excited over all the food on the table and starts grabbing as many cookies and pancakes as she can. Joy tells her that she cannot just do that and ends up confessing that she is embarrassed by her behavior. The reunion ended before it started and Cassie says that she has realized that they have forgotten how to laugh. She thinks she has a way to fix that though and invited them all to Chicago. Once they get there Martha and Stephanie go to take a sit while Cassie goes to check-in. Joy is left alone with Abi and Donna while the two of them continue teasing each other with sarcastic comments. Stephanie gets a notification that her favorite chef will host an event that same day in Chicago and he has thrown a contest to win tickets. They need to take some eggs to a specific location and will get some tickets for the event instead. Martha gets excited about the new mission and tells Stephanie she will help her with it.

Sam complains to Adam for letting him be the last one to know about his decision of becoming a missionary. Adam says he spoke to Grant about it and he practically left him with no choice but to quit. Adam says that before making a decision he wrote a list with the pros and cons of it. So far, it seems that the only reason stopping him is Stephanie.

Joy notices that she was given the wrong bag. When she opens it and the first thing she sees is a cap in it. Donna picks up her room and Joy gets annoyed at her attitude. She tells her that the one that should pick first is Cassie. In the meantime Stephanie and Martha are outside looking for the place where they should drop the eggs and get the tickets. They ask a cop (Xavier Schoppel) for it, but he says that the last tickets where already taken. The women gather together again and the discussion between them goes on and on while Cassie scrutinizes the whole situation.

Grant plays basketball with Sam and tells him that he appreciates what he did for Dr. Jacobson the day before. Cassie goes out for a walk and buys a hotdog with curry powder. Joy and Abi had followed her since they saw her quite thoughtful earlier and she takes them to a reunion that will be made for her friend Olympia. They arrive to a café and meet with Marguerite (Catherine McGregor) who asks Cassie to say a few words for Olympia. She says that the woman was her mentor, her teacher and her friend and she recalls that the first thing she said to her was that “there’s nothing a good cup of tea can’t fix.” Marguerite unravels a plaque that has engraved Olympia’s full name and Abi notices that the woman’s last name was Connelly, just like the traveler’s that cast the curse.

Martha and Stephanie buy some hotdogs and look disappointed that they haven’t gotten the tickets they wanted. The women gather again and the bickering between them is still on. So, Cassie decides to do something about it. She brings out the rock Olympia gave her and opens it to reveal that the piece is filled with a beautiful purple inside. Martha says that the rock is stunning and Cassie replies that everyone is while she hands them each a journal. She asks them to write their name on it, to pass it around and the rest of the group will write something beautiful they see about the person. Sometime after each one of them begin to read what it was written about them and it immediately shifts the mood in the room.

Sam meets with Adam again and he confirms that he has made his choice and will leave in two weeks, but he hasn’t talked to Stephanie yet. Sam says that if he wants he will drive him to Chicago so he can spend some time with his girlfriend and tell her the news. Meanwhile, Cassie and Stephanie are making dinner when there is a knock at the door. The chef opens it and is surprised to see Adam and Sam there. Sam greets Cassie. When Stephanie is left alone with Adam she manages to figure out that he has made his choice, but is happy that he had gone all that way to be with her.

Donna is at the lobby drinking wine when Joy joins her. She tells her that she had to check again if her bag was already found but it seems there’s no sign of it. They talk for a while and make amends.  Right that moment Chef Byron (Jeffery R. Smith) shows up and it turns out that he had Joy’s bag and is happy to know that he recovered his “lucky cap.” Joy and Donna realize that he is the chef that Stephanie wanted to see and make a plan. Both women go to meet with the others and tell them they got tickets for everyone to attend to Chef Byron’s event making Martha and Stephanie truly happy. At the event everyone is surprised of the size of the meal they will be having and laugh about it.

Later that day Donna comes out of her room and meets with Abi who is reading the same book she had read a week earlier. She says to Donna that she didn’t like it the first time and was thinking about giving it a second chance. Donna replies that she totally believes in second chances. Abi apologizes to her and the two women make amends right before Joy joins them there.

Adam and Stephanie go outside to get some pizza and he take selfies with her so she can look at them every day. Meanwhile, Sam and Cassie got to buy some hotdogs and speak about their day and how they loved how it turned for both of them.
