Grace (Bailee Madison), Cassie (Catherine Bell) and Sam (James Denton) are having breakfast while the young girl expresses that she does not know which college to choose or will make her happy to attend. So, her mother suggests that whichever feels right must be the one and since Cassie will be honored by the holistic medicine department at her alma mater (the Wellingsly College), Sam suggests that it might be a good idea for Grace to go with her and take the chance to get familiar with said college. Cassie asks Sam if he is sure he can handle The Grey House without her and he says he is more than ready for it. Abi (Sarah Power) arrives and is invited to the road trip that Grace and Cassie are having, but she refuses as she says that she needs to take care of the flower shop.

Later that day Abi is working at her shop and is surprised by Donovan (Marc Bendavid) who, as soon as he enters the place, steals a kiss from her and then lets her know the plans he has for them later in the day. It seems he wants to take her to dinner and then to a harbor cruise. The woman is displeased at not having been asked first about it, which Donovan ignores and leaves the place happily.

In the meantime, Martha (Catherine Disher) has decided to start her own talk show live from her office and is making sure that all the cameras are set for it when Theodore (Jerry Levitan) shows up saying that she has to be at the studio so they can shoot her talk show. However, the mayor makes her new plans clear to her producer. She confesses that she has decided to do a new show called “Martha Musings” where she will keep the town updated of main events in Middleton.

Cassie and Grace are getting ready for their road trip when Abi walks in and asks them for the chance to join them. Later that day, Sam and Nick (Rhys Matthew Bond) welcome the new guests to The Grey House, a young guy named Jack (Kataem O’Connor) and his father Greg (Andrew Moodie). The two of them are in town for a violin audition for Jack. Apparently, the guy has been playing since he was 5 years old and Nick is surprised to find out about his discipline and dedication to it. Sam offers a brochure of the activities they might like to do while in town, but Greg says that he doesn’t think they will have so much time to do anything since Jack must be focused on practicing.

Grace, Abi and Cassie stop at a diner to get their famous chili cheese fries but are surprised when the waitress says that the fryer is broken. So, the only thing they can offer is apple pies.

Back in Middleton, Adam (Scott Cavalheiro) pays a visit to Stephanie (Kylee Evans) where he informs her that he is the winner of the dinner for two that she donated for his junior eagles auction and he’d like to redeem it. The woman seems to be uneasy to find out that he has moved on from her and found someone to date. Sam and Nick are playing a baseball video game when Jack walks into the room. Sam offers Jack to join them and the man does until his father arrives questioning him about it something that makes him drop the game and go back to rehearse for his audition.

Cassie, Abi and Grace are taking a walk around Wellingsly College when they meet with Willow (Kathy Najimy), Cassie’s old friend and former classmate who is now the head of the Humanities department at the college. They share stories from when they were back in college but then are suddenly interrupted by the volleyball coach Matthew (Anthony Bewlz) who didn’t go unnoticed by Abi and vice versa. While they are talking Grace notices a bunch of students printing their hands on a rock in the middle of campus. Apparently, it’s an old traditional that maybe Grace will soon probably be part of.

Theodore shows up at Martha’s office and unfortunately for her, the number of viewers of her show, didn’t go as expected. Grace meets with Ella (Alexandra Beaton) who has gotten her a room for her stay. The blonde girl explains that she has decided to enroll to Wellingsly due to her father and Grace expects she can do the same and attend said college just like her mother did.

Back to Middleton, Sam and Nick wake up in the middle of the night to a melody coming from downstairs and find out that Jack has been practicing nonstop. The next day, Martha visits Stephanie and is surprised to find out that Adam has a date. Martha also tells her about her failed attempt of a talk show and the other woman suggests her to do something to be remembered by and that might just do the work.

In the meantime, at Wellingsly Willow has prepared a beautiful introduction about Cassie and how she is the reason that the college holistic medicine club exists nowadays. Matthew sees Abi and approaches to her to invite her to watch his girls practice, but she lets him know that she cannot attend since she has to go back to Middleton. Later in the day Jack sees Nick playing basketball and decides to join him. Unfortunately, the boy hurts his finger, but Sam is there to check on him. He lets Jack and Greg know what happened to Jack is just a mild sprain but is up to the guy to decide if he wants to play or not. His father expresses his concerns and decides for Jack to let the audition pass for his hand’s sake.

Cassie sees Abi talking to Matthew and asks her about Donovan. Abi says that she has a problem and it is that she likes Donovan very much. So, Cassie suggests for her to tell him the truth. Later, Grace meets with Cassie and tells her that Ella has been a great student host, but she might not be attending next year since she misses her father very much. The girl takes the chance to express her fears of feeling the same way once she goes to college, but Cassie makes sure to let her know that regardless the miles she will always be there for her.

Theodore is still trying to convince Martha to move back to the studio to shoot the show, but the woman refuses once again. Instead, she comes up with a different topic for her show so it would be accepted by the audience. She has invited Harold Bunker (Darryl Hinds) who is the city controller. Martha asks him to explain what his job is about and after she questions him for his behavior. She also exposes that he had thrown a can on the floor and not on the recycle bin, making the man feel so uncomfortable that he leaves the place in a haste. Stephanie welcomes Adam at his bistro and shows him the table she has set for him and his date. When she asks about the woman that he had invited he lets her know that said woman is actually her. At first Stephanie seems to be reluctant to accept the invitation, but Adam tells her that they agreed on being friends so they can have a dinner just like that. Willow confesses to Cassie that she has been invited to participate in another holistic medicine program which would mean for her to leave Wellingsly, but she feels there’s still so much she can do there.

Later in the day Grace and Ella are dancing, but they still need to work on their moves so Grace tells her they will have plenty of time rehearse next year. Ella confesses that she might not come back since she misses her dad very much and wants to be with him. Right at that moment her father Hank (Jean-Michel Le Gal) arrives saying that he had a feeling he might go see her and Grace leaves the room so the two of them can catch up.

Back at The Grey House Jack is making himself a sandwich when Sam walks in and asks him how his hand is doing. When doing so, he throws a ball at him that the guy catches perfectly fine so Sam tells him that he knows that he has been faking being hurt.

Jack confesses that he is no longer interested in playing the violin and Sam encourages him to tell the truth to his father. As on cue, Greg walks in and Sam leaves the two alone so they can talk. Matthew and Abi are taking a walk around campus and he invites her to another volleyball match and suggests they can go have dinner later, but Abi hesitates on her response. Theodore figures out that she has a boyfriend, but she is not capable to muster a single word.

Stephanie and Adam are having a great time together. He asks her if she is seeing someone and she confesses that she dated a guy a couple of times, but they decided to just be business partners. She asks him why he decided to be a chaplain and he tells her that it was his grandma’s faith that encouraged him to become one.

Theodore visits Martha to tell her that on her last show the ratings went to the roof so now she knows what to do to keep it that way.

At Wellingsly Ella has decided to print her hands on the rock and tells Grace that she hopes she will do the same soon. Willow and Cassie arrive and Ella tells the teacher how important her lessons have been for them. Still, the woman believes she is not doing enough.

Stephanie tells Martha that Adam invited her for dinner and the woman takes that as another topic for her show. Willow meets with Cassie to tell her that the college has offered her the chance to develop a specialized curriculum for pre-med program, something that makes her truly happy so she has decided to stay. They both decide to go and print their hands on the college’s rock afterwards.

Nick and Sam are playing basketball and then Greg and Jack join them. However, first Greg thanks the doctor for helping his son to open up to him about what he truly wanted.

Martha starts her show with a new topic – “rebound relationships.” She starts to feel guilty and apologizes for taking advantage of the Middleton’s residents trust, so she decides to resign as a talk show host and just be the mayor they need. On their way back Cassie, Grace and Abi stop at the same diner as before and, lucky for them, this time they had their famous chili cheese fries available.

Sam and Cassie meet and catch up about their adventures. Abi meets Donovan at the park and tells him that she has been waiting to kiss him all along.
