Q) What are the recent projects that you are working on?

A) I’ve just finished a play at the Southwark Playhouse where I played ten characters in an hour. It was incredibly intense, but probably the most rewarding job I have ever done. I have also recently completed on several pilots working with some amazing actors and great story lines…watch this space!

Q) Please tell us the premise for “Lovesick” and about your character Abigail.

A) “Lovesick” is a romantic comedy for the Netflix era. It tells the story of a young man who tries to reconnect with all his exes o find out where it went wrong…or right. Ultimately, it’s the story of friendship and love in the modern day. My character is called Abigail who is one of Dylan’s (Johnny Flynn) exes who becomes a part of a tricky love triangle throughout the series.

Q) Was there anything you added to the role that wasn’t originally scripted for you?

A) Originally, I was booked for four episodes and somehow twenty episodes later I’m still here! I had a very strong idea for Abigail at the beginning, I wanted to play someone who was strong yet ultimately very positive. A lot of time strength is played through a hardness, but I wanted Abigail to have a certain light and energy to her. I think the writers caught on with what I was doing, liked it and pushed it further. I often think about Willow from “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” when I work on Abigail because she often turned something very dark and made it light with humor.

Q) What did you find challenging about portraying Abigail?

A) It’s very natural for me to play Abigail so I don’t think challenging is necessarily the right word. However filming Series 3 was very emotional for me. I don’t want to give the plot anyway in case fans haven’t seen it yet, but the scripts required the actors to really dig deep this time and we all took that seriously. I hope we did them justice.

Q) Were you familiar at all with any of your costars before working with them on “Lovesick?”

A) Antonia [Thomas] and I had worked together on “Misfits” before. It was my first job out of drama school and she was so welcoming.

Q) What were some of your most memorable moments from filming the series?

A) I think filming in Glasgow is an amazing experience in itself. To get to know this great city and to film in the locations we have has been really inspiring. We’ve had many a night out listening to the beautiful music Glasgow has to offer and the whiskey is also on a different level.

Q) What made Netflix the perfect platform for the show?

A) Netflix allows you to binge in the most brilliant way and Lovesick is definitely a binge worthy show. As soon as you are done with one episode you want to see the next so Netflix is great for that.

Q) What do you think it is about the series that made it such a fast fan favorite?

A) I think the series is very real. People recognize the characters as similar to their own friends or even themselves. It makes it very relatable.

Q) You are a part of social media. Did you enjoy getting the instant fan feedback you received to episodes?

A) Social media has been great for “Lovesick.” The word spread very quickly about the show on that platform and it was lovely to read the messages from fans who support and are so invested in the show. it is very encouraging.

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who is a fan and supporter of you and your work?

A) I would like to thank anyone who has taken the time to message me or watch any show I have been in.  I am so lucky to do a job that I love and the best part of that is making work that people enjoy. That’s what it it’s all about.
