Sophie (Kim Cattrall) tells her son that is often believed that older people have all the answers and their life figured out but we cannot be further from the truth. Sophie (Hilary Duff) and Robert (John Corbett) have been dating for a few weeks now and she just seems to be so lovestruck that she even sees crazy romantic things happening all around.  She arrives to Sid’s (Suraj Sharma) bar to meet with her friends and does not miss an opportunity to tell them about the wonderful dates Robert has taken her on. Despite their happiness for her, the gang makes sure to let her know that she has been putting them off to spend so much time with her boyfriend. The evident age difference between the two leaves room for her friends to tease Sophie with jokes about dating an older man. Sophie advises that Robert will be there soon and she would like to see them getting along with him. While they are still in the middle of this conversation Robert arrives and overhears a joke about him. he asks them what they’re laughing about and the friends confess that they were making a joke about Sophie’s older boyfriend. They end up very ashamed that said man is actually him. They are also surprised by noticing how young he actually looks (it seems like Sophie won’t be the only one dazzled by him). Sophie takes him away to the other side of the bar and tells him that it is now her turn to take him to a date at her apartment and the man agrees. After they leave Jesse (Christopher Lowell) is evidently left somehow disappointed about having missed his opportunity with Sophie and confesses to his sister Ellen (Tien Tran) that he thought that this would be only a phase that she would soon get over but now he is not so sure about it.

Meanwhile, at the other side of the bar Sid and Charlie (Tom Ainsley) are still concerned about how well they will age and they only hope they do it the same way as Robert. The pals begin to freak out when they notice that they have grown a gray hair and become so obsessed by it that they promise to take better care of themselves. As a way to put this plan in motion, they make an appointment at a beauty clinic where they ask to make them look younger.

Later on Jesse and Ellen are spending some brother and sister time together at the man’s apartment and have decided have some pizza. Just at that moment Rachel (Aby James) calls Ellen to let her know that she has returned from her trip to Florida and would like to spend some time with her. Ellen doesn’t have it in her to leave her brother alone so she gives a rain check to Rachel.

Sophie is getting everything ready at the apartment for her date with Robert when she sees Val (Francia Raísa) coming in with her evidently younger date Swish (Michael Cimino). Swish is still in college and also has been kicked out of his dorm along with Val. Sophie intends to make them leave saying that Robert will be there soon, but the woman refuses. Robert arrives and all of a sudden they have no other choice but to share the apartment.

Back to Sid and Charlie, they have just gone through a very painful cryotherapy treatment and ask for something which consists of a needle therapy they immediately agree on once they are shown how their faces would look in the future. At Val and Sophie’s apartment, while Robert and the latter are trying to have a lovely dinner, Val and her boyfriend are dancing to very loud music. Robert and Sophie end up tired of hearing it  and invite them to have dinner with them. Based on some comments made by Swish, the women realize the age gap between the two of their boyfriends which leads them to a not so pleasant conversation about it.

Jesse happily returns to his apartment carrying a pizza to share with his sister but finds her and Rachel on his bed. Ellen apologizes for what he just saw and confesses that she has spent a long time without seeing her girlfriend so she just wanted to have some time with her. She also encourages him to go find someone he can also have some fun with. So, the trio agree to go to the bar. There Jesse sees a girl (Amanda Joy Erickson) he seems to immediately like and his sister persuades him to go and say hi. When he does he ends up taking her to his apartment where Charlie and Sid are waiting and the results of their desperate measures taken in order to avoid aging are very evident. Unfortunately, Sid had an allergic reaction to the needles so his face is all swollen and Charlie’s face is now full red.  Despite this, Jesse takes the girl to his bedroom. However, sadly for him, she finds some women’s underwear and Jesse is incapable of how to explain that it got there, even though he knows it belongs to either his sister or Rachel. Sadly, just like that, the fun is over.

Back at Sophie and Val’s apartment, Robert tells Sophie that he needs to leave and the woman’s first thought is that he has been disgusted by Val and Swish’ behavior. This makes the two friends to go into another argument about whether or not Robert cares for her . Val confesses toSophie that she likes how Swish makes her feel and how it  serves for her as a good ego boost – something that resonates hard on Sophie and just brings her to the realization that she might be Roberts’s “Swish.” In order to test if Robert truly cares for her, Sophie asks him to go to a concert with her next weekend but it seems he has been trying to avoid the subject as he states that he will confirm later. Sophie seems to be very persistent about making him agree on any plans with her ,which makes the man to finally confess that he didn’t want to appear very old in front of and that even though it seems he was trying to avoid her, he really wanted to do was just to go to bed early. Then, he suggests that maybe they must plan a weekend getaway for next month to what Sophie agrees. Swish seems to disappear and then suddenly shows up carrying a bunch of flowers and proposing to Val. She says yes, believing that he will eventually forget, but future Sophie says that in fact he never truly did.
