“I Forgive You” by Gungor (feat. Isa Ma)
Grammy-nominated band Gungor, led by Michael Gungor, has released his new song “I Forgive You.” This song features additional vocals from Isa Ma. Anyone who enjoys listening to indie music should want “I Forgive You,” as it has an indie feel that combines rock, pop, and folk elements.
“I Forgive You” begins with a guitar line, quickly followed by supporting drums. After an instrumental of roughly 20 seconds, Gungor’s vocals are introduced with the lyrics, “Oh why does it hurt as bad as it does/To lose what we have, to have what we love.” In essence, Gungor is reflecting on loss and thinking about why losing something or someone we love causes us so much pain. Just from this, listeners will be able to tell that this is a song that reflects upon Gungor’s feelings. In the chorus, Gungor sings, “I forgive you/Please forgive me” four times. This is a simplistic chorus in lyrical content, even though the actual act of forgiving can be challenging for many to do at times. It is something that almost everyone universally strives for at different points in our lives.
