Q) How would you describe your sound?

A) Original, full of real content, versatile, unapologetic

Q) Who are some of your musical influences?

A) Most of my music influences come from the people around me, conversations and experiences. My love for music definitely plays apart in how I approach my records but my only influence artist wise is definitely biggie.

Q) Talk about the story behind your new song “No Time.”

A) The point of this video is that it’s okay to be selfish with your time when people take it for granted. If you let people continue to waste your time the only one that pays in the end is you.

Q) What do you think it is about the song that fans connect to?

A) They connect to the record because there’s actually a plot to what’s going on. Truthfully, I feel those are the best videos. The visuals are dope, but there is an actual concept unfolding throughout the video

Q) What made you decide to self-direct and shoot the video for “No Time?”

A) Because I can. Making music is my bread and butter, but film is getting up there in terms of my years of experience in it. My passion for film is also growing as well. I wanna show and prove through my work instead of talking about it

Q) How does the video for the track play into the message behind it?

A) The lyrics in the record consist of experiences and repercussions of me directing my time into the wrong things. So now I’m in a state or mentality where I must change my priorities. This is shown in the visuals, bars and through the actions of the main character in the video.

Q) What is your song writing process? Do you need music before you can create lyrics?

A) The instrumental talks to me and tells me what to do.

Q) How much of hand do you have in the production of your music?

A) 98%. I write, record and mix my own music

Q) What can fans expect from a live James Flow performance?

A) Energy, real emceeing and something always to vibe to while I’m on stage. I’m going to be performing at The Golden Stool on July 26th in downtown Brampton.

Q) What songs off your OverFlow EP are you looking forward to performing live?

A) “Ripped” and “No Rules.”

Q) What do you hope listeners take away from listening to your new EP as a whole?

A) Be yourself unapologetically. If you weren’t supposed to, you would be someone or something else. Let the truth that you are Flow

Q) Where are some of your favorite places to perform and what makes those locations so significant to you?

A) Brampton and Toronto. Born in Toronto, raised in Brampton

Q) Who would you most like to collaborate with on a song in the future?

A) I wish I could do a record with biggie. But I’m down with working with any artist that is serious about the craft and seek to evolve.

Q) What album/band are you currently listening to and why do you dig them?

A) Ironically, it’s been a lot of Drake and Pusha T

Q) You are a part of social media. Why is that such an important way for you to connect with your fans?

A) It almost seems as if having social media is essential in today’s new era of branding, but I feel that it’s more important to consistently provide dope content,so people have a real reason to mess with your work. Social media can definitely help in terms of exposure if the content isn’t good it’s not enough.
