Jim Norton – Lucky Bastard

Q) What are the current projects that you are working on?

A) I am just working on “Lucky Louie” and “Opie and Anthony.”

Q) Please tell us about your character Rich on the show “Lucky Louie.”

A) I am one of Louie’s good friends. I am kind of a scumbag in this because all I want to do is say horrible shit to Louie. I play a real prick.

Q) Why did you want to be a part of the show?

A) Louie is a friend of mine and I loved the pilot when I read it. I never expected to get the part, but I did get a call back for it. I loved the dialogue. It was just funny shit to say.

Q) What is your most memorable moment from filming?

A) It would probably be filming with Kelly Gould. That would be my favorite. I have had a lot of great moments during filming.

Q) Why should viewers take the time to tune in to the show?

A) People tune in to sitcoms for the good looking people and nothing else. They all have unrealistic dialogue. This show is funny. It’s just a really funny show.

Q) How did you get your start as a comedian?

A) I just kept going up in bars. I sucked when I first started. I was too dirty and had nothing behind it. I was just really awful. It was a long a road. I started in bars and started doing gigs. It was a year before I got paid.

Q) How did you decide to incorporate anger and aggression into your comedy?

A) It’s a part of who I am as a person. I am sick and tired of cute, adorable humor and non-threatening humor. It’s irritating and I think you’re not revealing anything. I think that’s nuts and I think you’re wasting your time.

Q) You tried out for the show “Last Comic Standing 2.” Are you fans of any of the new comedians on the latest version?

A) I am not a fan of any of them. I hosted a roast this season and a couple of them were funny. Chris Porter was funny. The guy with cerebral palsy [Josh Blue] was funny. I haven’t seen any other episodes because I don’t care what’s on TV.

Q) Who is your favorite comedian?

A) Richard Pryor is the funniest of all time. I love George Carlin. Colin Quinn, I think is great.

Q) What do you do in your spare time?

A) I spend a lot of time looking for hookers online.

Q) What is your latest obsession? A movie? A sport? A band? An activity?

A) My new obsession is working out. I never thought in my whole life I’d enjoy exercising. I’ve always wanted to, but couldn’t bring myself to do it. This is pretty much the only thing I’ve been doing lately.

Q) What would you like to say to your fans and supporters?

A) If you enjoy what I do I appreciate it. If you don’t enjoy what I do, go fuck yourself.
