Q) What are the recent projects that you are working on?

A) I’m performing in “Significant Other” at the Geffen Playhouse right now. I get to play a few different characters, which has been enjoyable — keeps everything fresh. Aside from that, I’ve been tinkering with a script for a short film that I’d like to shoot at some point.

Q) Please tease what is in store the Season 3 premiere of “Code Black” and about your character Judd.

A) Hmm. Well, it should come as no surprise that there is a medical emergency and my character is involved. I guess what stands out about Judd is that, because of his own demons, he has put someone else in harm’s way. The consequences of his actions ripple outward into his extended family.

Q) What was it about the part or series that made you want to be a part of the show?

A) I appreciated the opportunity to play someone who is plagued by internal conflict. It’s a satisfying dive when you get to portray a human who is at war with themselves.

Q) Was there anything you added to Judd that wasn’t originally scripted for you?

A) A lot happens to characters when they move from the page to the actor on screen; I can’t help but add some of my own flavor to the roll. It would be difficult for me to pinpoint one characteristic or another; however, especially without having seen my performance yet!

Q) What did you find the most challenging aspect to portraying this character?

A) It was tricky to determine Judd’s outward attitude as he moves throughout the experience of the crisis. When something catastrophic happens, how does emotion move through you? Are you angry, yelling, numb, hysterical? If so, at yourself or others? And so on. It was a bit like having every emotion inside, trying to sift through them, and then finding the truest expression in each moment.

Q) Who were you most looking forward to or hoping to share a scene with on the show?

A) Take your pick! I was pretty much excited to work with them all. Luis Guzman has been in some of my favorite movies so working with him was special.

Q) What were some of your most memorable moments from behind the scenes?

A) When I first arrived at the hospital set, I was taken with how realistic and detailed it was. Needless to say, playing pretend is a lot easier when everything around you feels real.

Q) What do you think it is about the series that has made it such a popular show?

A) I think entertainment that addresses questions of life and death will always be compelling to human beings. The series brings a straightforwardness to the subject matter as well; it’s a confident show and I think that translates on the screen.

Q) You are a part of social media. Are you excited to see the fan feedback you’ll receive to the episode?

A) While I do have social media accounts, I’m not particularly active at the moment. Maybe I’ll hop back on once the episode airs.

Q) We loved seeing you on the series “Eye Candy.” Have you kept in touch with any of your former costars?

A) We have a text chain going and we’ve been able to get together a handful of times. Everyone is pretty busy right now, but the love is still there.

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who is a fan and supporter of you and your work?

A) Thank you!!! Keep drinking lots of water.
