Q) How would you describe yourself as a musician?

A) I am a singer and a songwriter with over a dozen original singles on all digital outlets.  I consider myself a recording artist because I am not performing live a ton, but I love recording new music in a recording studio.  My songs vary from pop to EDM to ballads.  I love writing about current issues and inspirational topics.

Q) How do you manage to switch hats from acting to singing and influencing?

A) I love singing and acting, so it’s pretty cool that I am able to do both.  When acting gets slower, I focus more on writing new music.  Influencing to me is just sharing who I am with my fans, so that’s the easiest part. [smiles]

Q) Who are some artists that inspire you?

A) Since I was a little girl, I was inspired by Victoria Justice and Tylor Swift. In the last couple of years I have added Lin-Manuel Miranda to the mix because he is such a talented writer and a great performer. I admire his work and love the entire “Hamilton” soundtrack.

Q) What fueled your passion to write “Last Breath,” your new single?

A) Robbie Rosen and I wanted to write an original duet and this idea came from our brainstorming session.  We just wanted to write a song that people could relate to.   People in a plethora of relationships can relate to it.  You can take it literally or in a metaphoric sense.

Q) How did writing this song evolve?

A) This song was a great collaboration between Robbie and myself.  We both wrote the lyrics and worked on the melodies.  Since Robbie lives in New York and I live in Los Angeles, we did it through Skype.  Robbie also produced it, which was awesome.

Q) What was your memorable part of working on “Last Breath?”

A) Most memorable part was listening to the “Last Breath” for the first time.  A lot of work goes into completing and producing the song. Between recording the lead vocals, meshing it together as a duet and then recording and adding the harmonies – it all takes time and skill.  Often times there are corrections going back and forth too.  But this time I heard it for the first time, and it was perfect.  I just loved the first version.

Q) How was it working in the recording studio on this song?

A) This song was recorded in my home studio.  Due to COVID we are staying at home for the most part.  Therefore, it was actually fun to just record it at home with a virtual audio engineer.  I will definitely record more songs this way since I got a new great microphone.

Q) What do you hope listeners take away from the music you create?

A) I always want to inspire and leave my listeners with a takeaway or an important message.  I love hearing from fans that my music helps them through difficult times.  That’s why I do this: I love spreading kindness, positive energy and help the listeners understand that they are not alone in their struggles or ideas.

Q) You are a part of social media. Why is that such an important way to connect with your fans?

A) Social media is very important these days for multiple reasons.  Yes, it’s a great way to connect with your fans, but also it’s a great way to convey a message.  I love being able to share my music and get feedback from my fans on social platforms.

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who are fans and supporters of you and your music?

A) I truly appreciate your support and hope that you will continue on this journey with me.  Stay tuned because I am just getting started. [smiles]
