Q) What made you decide to do your own version of “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” this holiday season?

A) I’ve always wanted to record and release a Christmas song, and I chose “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” because I love the sentiment of it. It’s just pure, simple, and classic.

Q) What are some of the lyrics that you most connect to?

“Through the years, we all will be together if the fates allow”

Q) What was your process like to make this your song different than the original?

A) Since this song has been done so many times by so many different artists, I had to figure out the best way possible to reimagine it even just a little bit. But at the same time staying true to the original because it is a classic. I think with my version, I’ve managed to do something with it that stays true, but definitely feels different from the original. There’s a piano solo that comes in at a spot that is not usual that works beautifully to introduce the final verse of the song. And also, the way I am interpreting the song and some of my choices vocally.

Q) What has been the most fun part of working on this song?

A) I think the most fun part of working on this song was knowing that this is universal and forever. A classic Christmas song is forever and if my version doesn’t get discovered by many people this year, it’s never too late…

Q) You are a part of social media. What kind of fan response have you been receiving to the single?

A) The response has been great, but I am always striving for more.

Q) What do you hope fans of yours take away from your rendition of the song?

A) Well, first and foremost, I hope that it will bring everybody so much joy during this holiday season and give them the best feeling. But, also, it’s another opportunity to show my skills as a vocal powerhouse.

Q) I’d be remiss if I didn’t ask about some of your personal favorite Christmas songs to sing each year?

A) Mary did you know?, Greensleeves, Breath of Heaven

Q) Are there any upcoming singles or new releases fans can also be looking forward to?

A) Yes, I’ve been very busy with my recording project that I’ve been working on for the past couple of years. It’s the inspired project reimagine covers from different categories. I am now focused on completing rock reimagined. So, expect a single from this category to drop in the early part of the new year and then the full album which is sounding unbelievable.

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who are fans and supporters of you and the songs you create?

A) I would like to say that I’m so thankful to my friends who appreciate the music that I record and perform live. The past couple of years have been so laser-focused on reimagined cover music and I’m thankful that you are embracing what I have been doing. At some point I will dive back into original music, but for now I want to complete this recording series not just because it’s been a labor of love, since the pandemic began, but because I’m first and foremost an interpreter of song, and this project allows me to show you songs that you already know yet refreshed and done in a different way, which makes it a new song, with my interpretations, which allows me to use all facets of my voice.
