Q) How would you describe your sound?

A) Country rock soul

Q) Who are some of your musical influences?

A) I do not any specific influences… there are a ton of very different artists that I love for all different reasons. One of which is Chris Stapleton. I admire him and his work.

Q) Your song “Broadway Cowboy” is a viral success! Talk about the story behind it.

A) “Broadway Cowboy came to me one morning while I was sitting on mud balcony drinking my coffee. It was probably no later than 9am and I heard below my balcony a bunch of guys hooting and hollering so peaked down to see what looked to be ten to fifteen all piled in on this John Deere tractor trailer. Safe to say they were a few mimosas deep. They all had on brand new hats and boots that they probably just bought on Broadway … “buy 2 get one free.” All I could think was wow look at all those “Broadway cowboys” and right then and right there my mind just started flooding with the song concept and I sat down that that and wrote it.

Q) What do you think it is about the song that fans connect to?

A) I think “Broadway Cowboy” connects well with fans because it’s an all-around fun song with super high energy.

Q) How does the video for the track play into the message behind it?

A) I created the lyric by myself while walking down Broadway… the man in the video is my husband. [smiles]

Q) What is your song writing process? Do you need music before you can create lyrics?

A) I do not have a specific process. Sometimes a song started as a melody in my voice memos on my phone or sometimes it starts as a message or a statement.

Q) How much of a hand do you have in the production of your music?

A) I am very much involved in every aspect when it comes to the production of all of my music. I always have a specific vision for each song.

Q) “Broadway Cowboy” is off your debut EP More Than a Bad Habit. What are some themes you explore on it?

A) My EP, if the listener plays it from beginning to end, resembles the motions and emotions of what someone would go through during and after a breakup.

Q) Is there a track on the EP that holds a special significance for you and what makes it so special?

A) “Broadway Cowboy” is my focus track of my EP. I love the song’s energy and message. It’s just a fun tongue and cheek banger.

Q) Which of the songs on this EP challenged you the most creatively?

A) I wouldn’t say any of the songs on my EP challenged me creatively.

Q) What message or emotion do you hope lingers with audiences that explore More Than a Bad Habit as a whole?

A) I hope when the audience is done with listening that they have a big smile on their face and put a little pep in their step.

Q) I absolutely love your rendition of “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.” I have to ask, with the holidays upon us, what are some of your other favorite holiday songs that you enjoy performing?

A) “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas” is my favorite holiday song. My biggest inspiration behind the song was Sam Smith’s version. My goal with it was to leave the listener with goose bumps.

Q) Since you shined so bright on this holiday song, any thoughts on country-fying the holiday hit “All I Want For Christmas?”

A) I truly love the song exactly how I did it and wouldn’t change a thing. [smiles]

Q) Who would you most like to collaborate with on a song in the future?

A) Chris Stapleton

Q) What artist/musician are you currently listening to and why do you dig them?

A) I listen to so many different artists and genres of music. It mainly depends on my mood or what I’m doing. I wouldn’t say there is one single handed person I listen to the most.

Q) You are a part of social media. Why is that such an important way for you to connect with your fans?

A) It allows me to connect with my fans at any given time and keep them up to date with what I’m doing! I always try and respond to everyone!

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who is a fan and supporter of you and your work?

A) THANK YOU! You’re the main reason I am where I am in my career, and I love every single one of you so much. Let’s make 2024 the best year yet!!
