Q) How would you describe your sound?

A) I would say my sound now is a pop punk/alt rock vibe influenced by MGK, Blink-182 and Jxdn and I wanted to showcase my guitar playing. My first EP, Broken Promises, had an emo melodic rap feeling to it since I was into JuiceWrld, Xxxtentacion and The Kid Laroi when I was writing those songs. The songs for my Lights in The Forest EP had a lofi/pop acoustic vibe to it which was influenced by Powfu.

Q) Who are some of your musical influences?

A) Some of my musical influences would definitely be Machine Gun Kelly, XXXTentacion, Juice WRLD, Lil Peep, Jxdn and The Kid LAROI

Q) Talk about the story behind your new song “Shooting Star.”

A) The story behind “Shooting Star” is about love at first sight. And the spark you get when you feel a connection with someone.

Q) What do you think it is about the song that fans connect to?

A) I think it is the fact that many can relate to having a crush on someone they love in their life.

Q) How does the video for the track play into the message behind it?

A) The two stars fall in love with each other, and they soar through the sky because of the loving connection they have with each other. One of my favorite scenes is the little car representing that the stars are each other’s ride or die.

Q) You have quite a gift for storytelling. What is your song writing process? Do you need music before you can create lyrics?

A) Thank you for saying that. Some of my songs that have lyrical stories that people like are “Pink Blossom Tree,” “Raindrops,” “7AM” and “The Note I Wrote.” I usually start an inspiration that comes to mind and let it flow naturally. Most of the time I start with a riff or chord progression then write lyrics over the top. Sometimes I’ll come up with a cool bar and add it or sing that bar with a melody and find what fits together. Kind of like a puzzle piece.

Q) Grammy-nominated producer Kevin Thrasher worked on “Shooting Star,” but how much of a say do you have in the production of your music?

A) I have mostly all of the say because Kevin is trying to help me bring my ideas to life in the studio. I enjoy collaborating with him and getting his advice because he is an amazing producer and works with some of the most talented artists in the world. I don’t agree with letting someone else do all the work and to be lazy and not involved. I am trying to learn and grow as a songwriter and feel lucky to have him helping me with my music.

Q) Will there be a full album or EP coming in the near future?

A) Yes, definitely. Right now, I’m working on an Alt Rock/ Pop Punk EP at the moment.

Q) Where are some of your favorite places to perform and what makes those locations so significant to you?

A) I have played lots of different venues in Oklahoma when I was in the School of Rock band. Since I started this Kid Prexy project, I performed a twelve-song set at the 89th Street Collective in OKC, and my favorite place I’ve gotten to play at would definitely be the Paycom Center arena when I opened for The Kid LAROI.

Q) Who would you most like to collaborate with on a song in the future?

A) I’d say my top three would be Machine Gun Kelly, Travis Barker and Powfu.

Q) What artist/band are you currently listening to and why do you dig them?

A) Right now, I’m definitely listening to a lot of Blink-182, MGK, Jxdn and Powfu because I really love the sound of all of them. They are some of my favorite artists.

Q) You’re only 15-years-old and have already broken records with more than 2 million streams. What advice would you give to other up and coming musicians?

A) My advice to other up and coming musicians would be to write music that is authentic to you, and it will resonate with others.

Q) You are a part of social media. Why is that such an important way for you to connect with your fans?

A) Because it’s an easy way to connect and reach out to people and have a direct link with them. I love that you can post a picture or video and immediately get feedback, likes and comments from people all over the world.

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who is a fan and supporter of you and your work?

A) Thank you all so much for listening to my music and always supporting me with your kind words. I love all of you and I’m excited to have you be a part of my musical journey.  Much love!
