Q) What was the journey that took you from being a lounge singer in Dubai to being a worldwide singer-songwriter and model like?

A) Many thanks for your question. I cannot comprehend yet how far I have come since the beginning, but I think that all this progress is thanks to the fact that I have never backed down from obstacles. During moments of great fear and stress, I continued to move forward. I also seized opportunities when they presented themselves and I think that’s my strength. If this path can inspire only one person, I will be more than happy.

Q) Did growing up in Switzerland influence your way of doing music and the themes that your songs are based on?

A) Not really because in Switzerland the artist domain is not so much developed. You really need to establish your career abroad and after you prove yourself in another country, you can be truly recognized as a professional artist. So, the only thing my music is influenced by is all of the experiences I have had in life or that people around me had in their own life. It’s really an inspiration and I’m like a sponge, I soak up my environment and create my feelings through music.

Q) What inspired you to mix so many genres of music together?

A) Excellent question! So, I really want to create a new style of music that everybody can recognize something in, in a positive way. I was looking for a style of music that when you listen to it, each person can say, “Oh, it sounds like that style, but not that much,” and unlock a personal memory in their mind. It’s really just a mix of a lot of artists that I’m very inspired by.

Q) Were there any challenges that you faced while mixing those genres of music together while working on your latest album?

A) I didn’t want to sound too old school with my music because I was looking for some new, fresh sounds of country. It was a great challenge but with Hayden Maringer’s help, we passed with flying colors.

Q) Since your upcoming album talks about toxic relationships and the pain of abandonment, how were your personal experiences used in the making of your music?

A) Yes exactly. It has a real meaning for me about my personal life with my family. Doing music, writing and creating all this stuff is really like a form of therapy for me. When a song is released it’s like I don’t suffer any more about this subject. I healed.

Q) What’s the story behind your new single “My Turn?” What’s the inspiration behind it?

A) The lyrics speak to the universal experience of chasing dreams and overcoming obstacles, making it an anthem for anyone who has ever felt the pull of their ambitions. “My Turn” is a personal anthem of hope and ambition. It offers solace to those facing adversity, reminding them that they are not alone and that it’s their time to embrace happiness and a better life. I have always fought to achieve my dreams and I firmly believe that everything is energy. One day, I decided it was my turn to succeed where I said I would. And that day has arrived. My turn is a real statement to me but also to other people who can be inspired by it.

Q) Is writing a ballad like “My Turn” any different than writing a country song?

A) What was really different was that I was surrounded by real music industry professionals, die-hard artists in a place where the cradle of music was born, Los Angeles. So, the result of “My Turn” is really at that level because I was surrounded by the best in the best place. I would never have made it alone so thank you to them.

Q) Which song from your upcoming album are you most excited for the fans to listen to?

A) My turn was for sure the one I was most excited for because it’s the first one and means a lot to me. But I can say that “Redemption,” the next song, makes me so excited as well!

Q) How was your collaboration with the producer Hayden Maringer born?

A) Wow, Hayden. That was just a dream come true. So, first I heard about him via all the amazing artists he worked with like Jennifer Lopez, Demi Lovato, etc. I know that he’s just a huge artist himself and I can’t deny that it was a dream of mine to work with him one day. And this day was coming. I’d taken the courage to write him a letter and explained to him my journey in the music industry. After two days I’d received a very good answer from him and everything started at this moment. It was unbelievable for me.

Q) Were you always interested in being a singer or did you want to pursue another career when you were little?

A) When I was little, to be a singer when you live in Switzerland is like an impossible dream. The country is not open for that career but for a career abroad, so if I didn’t have all those opportunities, I wanted to be a lawyer.

Q) In which way do you think you could help in building a sense of self-confidence in other women and girls using your career as a model? And how important is this mission to you?

A) When you perhaps look different than expected by society you can sometimes think that it’s not your right to do this or that. With my career, I just wanna tell the person who doubts themself that it doesn’t matter how you look. It’s just about your aura and the energy you put into your project. There are literally no obstacles to being different than expected. I wanna even say it’s better because your difference makes a difference.

Q) Aside from your upcoming album, can you tease us anything about your future project?

A) First, I have a special announcement to do in exclusivity for StarryMag: “Redemption,” the next song will be released on the 9th of April 2024!

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who is a fan and supporter of you and your work?

A) That without them, I would not exist. That I feel so strong because of them and grateful to have them around me. Thank you to my Samers for being who they are.
