Q) How would you describe your sound?

A) It would describe it as a fusion of Dancehall and Afrobeats with pop influences.

Q) Who are some of your musical influences?

A) Some of my musical influences are Stefflon Don, Sean Paul, & Afro B

Q) Talk about the story behind your new song “Pon Di Floor.”

A) The song came about after talking with producer Brahma Beatz. We had just finished a song for a previous album and then he had an idea for the ep and this was one of the first songs that I wrote as I wanted to have a straight up dancehall feel to it.

Q) What do you think it is about the song that fans connect to?

A) I think they will connect to the mood and the raunchy lyrics it’s a full party and dancing vibe.

Q) How does the video for the track play into the message behind it?

A) The video brings out the boss element of the song and you should feel confident listening to the song and getting in a frisky mood.

Q) What is your song writing process? Do you need music before you can create lyrics?

A) My process is usually to have to music and then create the lyrics and melodies. However, other times I do come up with hook melody first and then build a song and instrumental around it.

Q) How much of hand do you have in the production of your music?

A) I usually give the producer I am working with reference tracks of the mood I’m trying to create, and I let them do their thing. Then, I make slight changes and add a few things on top usually in the intro and outro or on the hook to make the song a bit more unique.

Q) What are some themes you explore on your new EP Bashment SZN?

A) It’s a very sexual EP and it explores themes of dominance and surrendering to your partner to fulfill your desires and wants.

Q) What tracks hold a special place in your heart and why?

A) “No Hay Mejor” is the one that hold a place in my heart because it was exploring a new sound and language for me and really challenged me.

Q) What songs challenged you the most to create?

A) “No Hay Mejor” was the hardest song to create as I am not a native Spanish speaker and I had to learn a lot during the process. I came up with the idea in English then worked with another artist to translate it and then arrange the whole song.

Q) How do you shake off a long day in the studio?

A) After a long day in the studio I just get some food and then put on some Netflix to chill out and relax.

Q) What do you hope listeners take away from checking out Bashment SZN?

A) I hope they will have fun listening to and dance to it and just feel free to explore their sexuality and their desires.

Q) Where are some of your favorite places to perform and what makes those locations so significant to you?

A) I really like performing at R.I.S.E. as it’s more like a community and it’s where I first performed when I made my first song. So, it always brings me back when I am there.

Q) With concerts currently on hold, what do you miss most about being on stage?

A) I miss the energy from the crowd the most. It’s the best part of seeing your song come to life.

Q) Who would you most like to collaborate with on a song in the future?

A) I would love to be on a song with Stefflon Don or Afro B or Sean Paul! That would make my world!

Q) What album/band are you currently listening to and why do you dig them?

A) I am currently listening to Adekunle Gold Afro Pop, Vol 1 album right on now on repeat. It’s really amazing the way he write his songs and the tone of his voice is very smooth and relaxing.

Q) You are a part of social media. Why is that such an important way for you to connect with your fans?

A) Yes, I am very active on Instagram and it’s the best way to connect with fans as you can have touch points with them every day and they can see what you are like outside of your music and get to know you on a personal level.

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who is a fan and supporter of you and your work?

A) I would say thank you because every comment I get is motivation to keep going! Creating music is hard work but the fans and supports are what make it worth it.
