Q) You are often described as a pop artist, but how would you describe your sound?
A) Well, I tend to experiment with a ton of genres. I think my sound can be described as very fun and upbeat.
Q) Who are some of your musical influences?
A) K-pop groups have definitely influenced me in a lot of ways. I love how creative they are and it’s definitely inspired some of my music!
Q) Talk about the story behind your new song “cya later.”
A) “Cya later” talks about how if someone isn’t willing to change, you move on and leave them in the past.
Q) What do you think it is about the song that fans connect to?
A) I think a lot of people can relate to the relationship aspect in the song in many ways, one being they’ve been in a similar situation where they had to let someone go and move on.
Q) Your new album Not So Lovely is out in September. What are some themes you will be exploring on it?
A) Well, although it’s very focused on my personal perception and experience with love/relationships. It explores a time when you find your worth in a relationship where you didn’t feel worthy.
Q) How much of a hand do you have in the production of your music?
A) In the more upbeat songs I always suggested to producers we should have some K-pop vibes in there! In the darker pop songs, there are few in there that I one hundred percent self-produced!
Q) “hate u love u” and “LOVE IS A DREAM” are my personal favorite tracks on the album. Which song(s) holds a special place in your heart and what makes it standout to you?
A) I definitely agree that “hate u love u” is a good one. It really sets the tone and the story for the album.
Q) What do you hope lingers with listeners who explore Not So Lovely as a whole – either as an emotion or message?
A) To know your worth and to not let anyone darken your light!
Q) Where are some of your favorite places to perform and what makes those locations so significant to you?
A) My bedroom…I have yet to do live performances!
Q) Who would you most like to collaborate with on a song in the future?
A) PinkPantheress is a big one. Maybe a few K-pop groups as well!
Q) What artist/musician are you currently listening to and why do you dig them?
A) I wouldn’t say I’m listening to anyone specific right now. I’ve been digging a lot of video game soundtracks!
