Lucifer (Tom Ellis) tells the story of Cain and Abel to Pierce (Tom Welling). Leading up the day Cain killed Abel, labeling Pierce as the world’s first murderer. Lucifer tells him that they need to change his story. Lucifer tells him that he’ll go back to Hell and grab Abel’s soul and put it in a human body that would be make Abel still alive and Pierce not a murderer. The knowledge that Abel is in Hell shocks Pierce as he questions Lucifer about it as he tells Lucifer that he’s always tried to tell people that Abel is the “asshat” but no one believes him. Lucifer tells him that the point of this is that if Abel is alive then it should erase the crime in which Cain/Pierce was accused of, no crime no mark no mark no curse so he’d be able to finally die. After Lucifer’s speech, Pierce and Lucifer go through morgue photos to find the right body for Abel. Lucifer tells Pierce that he can only drop a soul into a body that has just recently died. That is when Chloe (Lauren German) comes in informing them of an explosion that killed a few and caused one to go to the hospital in critical care. Thus, giving Lucifer and Pierce a way to find their body. When Chloe goes to leave, she tells Pierce they’ll work the crime scene and she tells Lucifer to come on to which Pierce tells her that Lucifer is with him for the day.

Dan (Kevin Alejandro) fills Chloe in on what the techs found and what they ruled the crime as. He tells them that the bomb came by mail and that the assistant opened it which triggered it to go off. The paramedics push a gurney out the door with a body bag on it when Chloe asks if it was the assistant Ella (Aimee Garcia) says, “Yep. Rest In Peace dude.” And continues with her investigating. Dan tells Chloe that they tried to track who sent it, but whoever it was covered their tracks well and that they know that the assistant wasn’t the target because it was sent for their boss and motions to producer Alexa Lee (Jacqueline Obradors) who was pretty upset. Chloe and Dan go speak with her when she tells them that she was home when the bomb went off because she has her sessions with her Pilates instructor. When Dan asks if there’s anyone she knows of that would want to do this she asks him how much time he has because this is Hollywood and that she gets more hate mail than she does fanmail. Chloe asks if one threat stood out more than the others. Alexa tells them that her assistant Bree (Lauren Lapkus) would know because she handles all the mail. She catches herself and asks if Bree opened the box to which Chloe informs her that she is in the ICU. Meanwhile, at the hospital, Lucifer and Pierce look over Bree’s information which Lucifer tells him that she won’t do because she’s young and they could be stuck with Abel for another seventy years. They hear the monitors go off near them and find an elderly gentleman who had just passed. Pierce reads his charts and notices an DNR and that he has no next of kin. They decide that his man is the one they will use for Abel. Lucifer leaves to get Abel just as Bree’s heart stops. When he returns they wait for the older man to wake up, but Bree’s heart starts again! She wakes up and leaves the hospital. Pierce goes out into the waiting area when he notices Bree is gone and Lucifer realizes what happened. Pierce checks and notices that his mark is still there and that he is still cursed.

Pierce and Lucifer look for Abel/Bree and turn up empty handed. Lucifer tells Pierce that they should call Chloe when Pierce stops him and tells him that it’s not a good idea. They talk about where Abel would go as Pierce says that he doesn’t know because it’s been a few years and that Lucifer should know because he tortured him in Hell. Lucifer tells him that he was more of a big picture kind of guy, but that he knows a demon or two. Chloe and Dan go through the mail from Alexa’s office and notices a letter that said she was going to die and how the writings matched on another paper. They look up Liam Wade (Blake Shields) and find that his hand writing matches the letters sent to Alexa.

Charlotte (Tricia Helfer) is at Linda’s (Rachael Harris) office where she tells Linda all the things she’s tried to get her memories back and that nothing is working. She tells Linda that she’s paying her to help get her memories back and that they should focus on it. Linda tells her that she thinks they need to slow down and focus on what Charlotte does remember. Linda asks her if what she remembers is being stuck in a never-ending loop that she just keeps reliving over and over. She tells Charlotte that she knows it’s scary, but this is where they need to start. Charlotte gets upset and tells Linda that it’s not what she needs and not what she asked her for. Linda points out that it’s not what she needs or what she asks for and that she knows she’s used to being in charge, but she’s the expert and that Charlotte needs to let her drive it. Charlotte tells Linda that she’s done because all that’s going to happen is that Linda will drive her crazy and get her hooked on therapy and milk her for every cent she has and leaves. Lucifer and Pierce talk to Maze (Lesley-Ann Brandt) who is giddy as she tells them that you never forget your first. Lucifer asks Maze if she’s going to help them find Abel and she tells him that she’ll share what she knows so he can do all the work for once and starts telling Pierce that Abel was the first soul in Hell and that they learned how to torture by torturing him. Maze also tells Pierce that he was the star of Abel’s Hell loop and no matter what Abel did he would always come in and kill Abel repeatedly. Maze also tells them that Abel is very fluent in a ton of languages because she and the other demons would get bored and change places and times in which he experienced Pierce killing him. Lucifer points out that Abel might think that this is just another time loop. They ask Maze where he would start his time loop when she asks them who Abel reminds her of before pointing to Lucifer. She pulls out ones from a block on the table and slaps them on Pierce’s chest telling them if they want to find Abel then to think about where Lucifer would want to go.

Bree/Abel heads towards some ladies who were going to a rooftop bar and tells them they should all multiply with him. They turn and continue to walk inside causing Bree to follow them. Chloe and Dan head to Liam’s house and walk through trees and bushes until Chloe notices a red mark appear on Dan’s head and tells him that there’s a sniper aiming at him. They call out to Liam who is in camouflage, asking if he sent a note to Alexa. He comes out of hiding excited that someone read his message. Dan tells him that someone tried to kill Alexa, pointing out what was said in the letter. Liam tells them that everyone is going to die unless they act now to get the magma flow going otherwise it’s going to be a very hot apocalypse. Liam tells them that he didn’t like Alexa’s movie, but he didn’t hurt her. Back at the bar, Bree is gawking at women when Amenadiel (D.B. Woodside) shows up telling Abel that he’s been watching him. Abel, who has yet to discover he’s in Bree’s body tells Amenadiel he isn’t interested in sleeping with him or any man for that matter. Still not understanding Amenadiel, Abel tells him again he doesn’t want him so Amenadiel holds up a tray and shows Abel the reflection. Abel tells Amenadiel what he’s experienced every day, Amenadiel tells Abel that he may have a way to solve the problem and places a gun on the table.

Pierce and Lucifer continue their search for Abel and they discuss where Pierce would go once he dies. Lucifer tells him he’d hate for Pierce to end up in a time loop in Hell. Pierce states that his conscience is clear, so he wouldn’t punish himself like that. At the station, Dan comes to Chloe telling her that Liam is clean and that nothing showed up at his house. Chloe digs into some of what Liam says and shows Dan a list of people who works for Alexa that have ties to the Bolivian cartel. She gets an alert from TSA about one of the members arriving in Los Angeles the same day. It turns out he is sent to kill Bree, who is still talking to Amenadiel when she takes the gun and shoots him. Lucifer and Pierce arrive in time to find the body in the water and questioning Amenadiel where Bree went. Lucifer and Amenadiel argue about the actions that Lucifer and Pierce are doing as Pierce calls the station. Amenadiel tells Lucifer to do as he wants but he’s going to stop Abel and send him back where he belongs. Pierce tells Lucifer about the guy who Abel shot and tells Lucifer that they can’t keep it from Chloe now. They go back to the station and inform Chloe of what happened, and she tells him that next time he wants to steal her partner then he needs to inform her before it turns into another gun battle.

Chloe and Lucifer go to Alexa again and inform her about Bree, which Alexa tells them that they need to find her because she has no idea how anything works in her office without her. Alexa tells Chloe that Bree dealt with the Bolivians and goes to get everything from the cabinet and remembers that only Bree’s thumb print can open it. Dan informs Chloe and Lucifer that Bree was embezzling money from Alexa. Pierce goes to Maze and tells her that this is exactly the opposite of what Amenadiel would want and gets Maze to help him. As they talk the elevator doors open and Bree arrives and shoots Pierce.

Abel/Bree celebrates the “death” of Cain as Maze tells him to enjoy it while it lasts before Pierce sits up and causes Abel to panic and tells Pierce to just make it quick. Pierce explains to Abel that he needs his help and that he’s out of Hell and alive. Pierce brings Bree/Abel into the station to speak with Chloe and Charlotte for information that Bree has. Bree agrees and Chloe takes her outside. Amenadiel goes to Maze and Chloe’s apartment thinking he found Abel instead of finding a punching bag and Maze who is keeping him out of Lucifer’s way. The two fight much to Amenadiel’s dismay. Chloe, Lucifer and Bree go to Alexa’s office to open the files when Dan calls them informing everyone about Alexa rearranging her schedule for that afternoon. Bree sticks her thumb on the lock and opens it to reveal another bomb.

Pierce tells Chloe to leave which she denies and informs Bree she won’t leave her alone. Pierce tells Chloe that if she’s staying then he will talk her through defusing the bomb and getting everyone out safely. Lucifer takes over holding Bree’s hand as Chloe goes through the steps Pierce said and throws the cap at the desk, allowing Bree to take her hand down. Amenadiel and Maze continue to fight and discuss why he and Linda angers Maze so much. He lets Maze have free punches and he doesn’t fight back while using Linda as pawn to get Maze to stop fighting. Outside the offices, Chloe tells Lucifer that they found Alexa’s prints on the bomb and enough to get her to flip on the Bolivian cartel. Charlotte goes to see Linda again and apologizes for her behavior before hand and that she trusts her, no matter how scary. She starts telling Linda everything she’s been reliving a nightmare of a man she represented to came into her home and killed her family. Linda tells Charlotte that it’s a very brave start to getting help. Pierce and Bree talk and apologize to each other agreeing they need space from each other as Bree walks away. Lucifer walks up to Pierce telling them that they need to end their unholy alliance to protect Chloe. The two talk about Abel being how the curse ends only to see Bree get hit by a bus.
