Q) How would you describe your sound?

A) Hard Rock. Hard hitting music with powerful melodies.

Q) Who are some of your musical influences?

A) That’s a difficult one. I have a very eclectic taste in music, but I grew up listening to grunge, NuMetal and powerful female artists like Alanis Morissette. As I got older my taste got heavier and heavier.

Q) Talk about the story behind your new song “Inside Out.” What do you think it is about the song that fans connect to?

A) “Inside Out” is about standing up for yourself after being pushed around by that person in your life that lives for playing games and finally gets a dose of their own medicine. I think we all have had or currently have a person in our life like that.

Q) How does the video for the track play into the message behind it?

A) We don’t have an ‘official’ music video for “Inside Out”, but we were able to get into the studio with ONErpm and film us performing a live one take version in the recording studio. It was a really cool experience, and you can check it out here: https://youtu.be/XfW01KZJTVI

Q) “Inside Out” was written by you and Keith Wallen. What is your song writing process? Do you need music before you can create lyrics?

A) Yes! I love writing with Keith! He is awesome and it’s so fun working with him. What I love about the songwriting process in general is that it can be a different process every time. It could be a lyric idea first or a riff or rhythm idea first; it doesn’t always happen the same way.

Q) Johnny K. lent a hand with the production on this track, but how much of a say do you have in the production of your music?

A)  I loved working with Johnny K, and I appreciate that he kept the songs as true to their original forms of how I originally envisioned them as possible. I think it’s important for the artist to have a say in the production of the song while also making sure to find a producer you feel comfortable entrusting that song with.

Q) Where are some of your favorite places to perform and what makes those locations so significant to you?

A) That’s tough because as long as I am performing, wherever it is, I am happy. The stage is my happy place. I will however give a shout out to The Machine Shop in Flint, MI because the venue, staff and crew are so fantastic to the artists whether you are headlining or an opener and really run the place fantastically. There’s also always an amazing crowd there.

We have also gotten to perform in Europe and the UK which is super special. We played Hills of Rock in Plovidiv, Bulgaria and it was such a special experience.

I would also have to say any “hometown” shows in the NYC/NJ area are the best because you aren’t just playing for fans but for family, friends and people who have been supporting you from the very beginning in the audience.

Q) Who would you most like to collaborate with on a song in the future?

A) There are so many people I would love to collaborate with and am so thankful I have been able to write with so many wonderful writers. I love collaborating as it can help bring cool new ideas to a song. Right now, I’ve been enjoying co-writing with my band. It’s cool and special to be able to write with the people you share the stage with and play the songs live with.

Q) You are a part of social media. Why is that such an important way for you to connect with your fans?

A) Connecting with fans is very important to me. If we aren’t performing or on tour, social media is the best way to keep in touch. We are all one big music family. So, any of you out there please feel free to follow and like Madame Mayhem on social media and say hi! I always do my best to reply to everyone whenever I can.

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who is a fan and supporter of you and your work?

A) We couldn’t do what we do without you, so thank you so very much for the support! It means everything to me and the band! Also, make sure to stream and download our music wherever you listen, everything helps! And please like, follow and reach out on social media. All the info can be found at MadameMayhem.com
