Q) How would you describe your sound?

A) I think my sound is a little mix of Ed Sheeran and Dan + Shay. You definitely get a sense for that country pop vibe but also the emotion of a singer/songwriter.

Q) Who are some of your musical influences?

A) Love Ed [Sheeran]. Love Dan + Shay. Love Taylor [Swift]. There’s really too many to count.

Q) Talk about the story behind your new song “Ain’t Met Us Yet.”

A) I never thought “Ain’t Met Us Yet” would actually explode the way it did. I just remember waking up one morning after posting a TikTok the night before and seeing my video have 13M views! It’s now escalated to reach so many people! I love reading the comments that everyone leaves me on how it’s touched them!

Q) What do you think it is about the song that fans connect to?

A) While in the studio, my producer, Skyler Taylor and I had this very discussion. We came to the end of it with we think it’s just purity. My lyrics and my writing style have a way of bringing to life old school love stories and turning them into something that people can relate with, and it boggles my mind how a song reaches people. It’s amazing.

Q) You are a part of social media. What kind of fan feedback have you been receiving to the song?

A) I’ve never had so many people want me to sing at their wedding lol. But I also receive a lot of inspiring stories about people who were struggling, and my song was able to give them hope again. In the end, that’s what it’s all about for me.

Q) How does the video for the track play into the message behind it?

A) I knew exactly what I wanted with the music video. A basic love story of two kids who fall in love and grow up reading all these different love stories but the world “hasn’t met them yet.” See what I did there?

Q) What is your song writing process? Do you need music before you can create lyrics?

A) Having music before the lyrics helps me a lot. I used to write the lyrics before the music, but my creative side has really been finding melodies within the mix which I think is a lot better for me. But everyone’s different, you gotta be you!

Q) How much of a hand do you have in the production of your music?

A) The more and more music I put out, the more and more hands on with the production I like to be. I did three tracks with Sklyer Taylor and the last two tracks on the EP were self produced by me and my close friend Brett Truitt. I am very specific with what I want and communicating that with someone can be a challenge sometimes. You have to find the right people that can let you be you and still make it great!

Q) Please describe your new self-titled EP for us.

A) The EP has songs that make you cry, that make you dance, that make you feel like a cowboy/cowgirl. So many different songs that me and the team at Turnberry are sharing with the world. We’re excited to really give the world something specific with each song which you’ll be seeing very soon.

Q) Where are some of your favorite places to perform and what makes those locations so significant to you?

A) First and foremost, I love leading worship at my church. Other than church, I really haven’t done big tours or anything yet which I hope to do in the near future.

Q) Who would you most like to collaborate with on a song in the future?

A) Ed Sheeran

Q) What album/band are you currently listening to and why do you dig them?

A) I am currently listening to Thomas Rhett a lot lately. He’s got a lot of hip-hop elements in his songs that I’m really digging.

Q) You have had a lot of success on platforms like Tik Tok. What advice would you give to other up and coming musicians looking to get noticed that way?

A) TikTok is fantastic. It is becoming oversaturated a little bit, but there is still so much potential for other artists to get their name out there. I have just put together an exclusive experience for the single “Ain’t Met Us Yet,” which you can get at aintmetusyet.com. You’ll find a lot of cool stuff inside this download including a short documentary that I did with my brother so you can get to know me a bit more, and there’s a special email hidden so you can email me directly!

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who is a fan and supporter of you and your work?

A) I want to thank all the love and the support from my fans and family! Without all of you I couldn’t live my dream!
