Q) How would you describe your sound?

A) I would describe my sound as a young woman who knows her worth. A young woman with humility, courage and confidence who sings about her life is unapologetically herself.

Q) Who are some of your musical influences?

A) I grew up listening to Michael Jackson, Whitney [Houston], Mariah [Carey], Destiny’s Child…the greats.

Q) How does life in LA inspire your music?

A) It inspires me to push myself to tell the truth in my music and to put my vulnerability in my music.

Q) Talk about the story behind your new song “Young Queen.”

A) It’s my most personal record. It’s a powerful and meaningful record where I’m honoring my roots, my mom and my self-worth. I wanted to write a self-love anthem that celebrates everything that made me who I am today and I’m so proud of it. I want people to apply their story and to feel the same pride about themselves and their story.

Q) What is it about moms and motherhood that inspired this song?

A) My mom raised me with incredible values and those values helped me in life. They helped me to love myself and gave me so much strength. My mom always taught me to walk through life with my head held high and owe everything to her. She’s the real queen and if I can be half the woman that she is I know I’ll be good.

Q) What do you think it is about the song that fans connect to?

A) I think the message of the record is what they connect to. To love yourself, your journey, every step of your life that led to who you are today. Confidence, pride and self-love.

Q) How does the video for the track play into the message behind it?

A) I take so much pride in my visuals and it was so important that the video mirrored the lyrics and the feel of the record. I directed it and had all the ideas while I was working on the song. I tried to put everything that was Albanian and everything that I love. This video and record is my love letter to my born country Kosovo.

Q) What is your song writing process? Do you need music before you can create lyrics?

A) Oh, I couldn’t even tell you that because every song is different. Sometimes it starts with a title, sometimes with a verse idea, sometimes it’s a melody and sometimes it’s a track. It’s always different and that makes the process so fun. It’s never the same thing.

Q) How much of hand do you have in the production of your music?

A) I am in control of my sound, and I also co-produced the record. I know what sounds I want, and I express that to my team. I always know what I want, and I always know when it feels right and complete.

Q) Will there be a full album or EP coming in the near future?

A) Of course, there will be. But for now, the focus is to release more songs at a faster pace. But I already can’t wait for the next releases. I really have put all of my heart into my work, and it is so rewarding to share that with the world.

Q) Where are some of your favorite places to perform and what makes those locations so significant to you?

A) I never have performed, actually. I come from the studio world, where I’ve been writing songs for other artists and myself. And last year I got myself a new bigger team, but COVID made it impossible to perform. So, performing my songs live is something I can’t wait to do. I can’t wait to experience that magic.

Q) Who would you most like to collaborate with on a song in the future?

A) I would love to collaborate with Adele, Beyonce and Chris Brown as I listen to them all the time. I think a duet with me and Breezy would be so epic.

Q) What album/band are you currently listening to and why do you dig them?

A) Right now, I’m listening to a lot of Coldplay. Their music is so soothing. I really listen to more classic records than I do to new music to be honest.

Q) You are a part of social media. Why is that such an important way for you to connect with your fans?

A) I think social media is a great tool to connect with my fans. It’s great to have that power to connect with them directly and not depend on a manager or an interview on TV or radio.

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who is a fan and supporter of you and your work?

A) I want to say thank you. Thank you for listening to my music and supporting it. I put all of me in it and I can’t wait to share more music with you. I can’t wait to make y’all so proud. Love y’all.
