Wendy (Beth Hall) meets with the gang at the bistro and excitedly announces that she has been promoted to Nurse Supervisor, making everyone happy for her achievement. Bonnie (Allison Janney) seems to be the one who’s happiest the most for her friend. When expressing her excitement about and proposing a toast on her name, nobody seem to believe her since they think she’s just been sarcastic. She tries to convince them about her good intentions but fails at it.  As a way to celebrate, Jill (Jaime Pressly) asks her to order anything she wants of the menu, but Wendy says that she only wants soup. Jill doesn’t settle for that answer. When trying to suggest her what to order, she mispronounces the words and realizes that it is something that has been happening a lot to her lately and she believes that is because she hasn’t been sleeping well. She explains that no matter how low she adjusts her thermostat, she keeps waking up as though she walked out of a sauna. Wendy says that she should book an appointment with her doctor since she might be in her perimenopause and Jill retorts to her angrily then apologizes and says that she has also been irritable lately and as an attempt to make it up for her she invites them all to her club for lunch.

The women are all dressed up practicing for their lunch at Jill’s club and discussing how they have looked at the menu already when Jill arrives to their weekly meeting in a rush and looking irritated. She has already seen her doctor who has confirmed that she is actually going through perimenopause. Everyone tries to cheer her up, but she is still sad. Jill says that she had worked so hard to stay sober just to be in control of herself and her actions but now none of that matters. She also confesses that her doctor has told her that perimenopause might last a decade which worries her the most, but Marjorie (Mimi Kennedy) tells her that it usually lasts less than that so she should not be worried. She also remembers that it’ll be harder for her to have a baby, something that makes her feel even worse since she has finally found someone she actually wants to have a baby with.

The women are already at the club, looking visibly excited while waiting for Jill to arrive. Bonnie approaches the hostess (Elia Cantu) and asks her to let them in and get a table for themselves but the woman refuses to do it since they need for the club member to be there. Marjorie points out that Christy (Anna Faris) has been very quiet all along and when asking for the reason the woman confesses that she is disappointed that she was not picked for moot court at her law school. Right that moment Jill texts Marjorie saying that she won’t be able to be there since she is planning on going home and making a baby with Andy (Will Sasso). Tammy (Kristen Johnston) tries to flirt with an old man while he is waiting for a table and asks him if he wants to have lunch with five beautiful ladies, but the man gets scared by her and leaves.

Later that day Jill meets with Andy while he is preparing himself a sandwich. He thanks her for always having ham and bread in her house for him and asks that maybe she can also get him some Miracle Whip. Jill keeps on with the joke and says that she will if in return he helps her make a baby, something that takes Andy by surprise. He is so shocked that he needs to take a sit in order to process it. Jill explains that she believes they will be great parents, but Andy confesses that he doesn’t think they are there yet.

Bonnie gets ready for bed while Adam (William Fichtner) reads a book. She asks him if he has ever wondered what would it be like if they had a kid and they start to imagine all of the things their son would get from them, but eventually the conversation takes an interesting turn. They begin to list those things they don’t like so much about each other and the kid would inherit from them.

Christy is studying in the living room. Bonnie tries to make conversation with her about her day, but the other woman doesn’t seem to be in the mood for it. Suddenly, someone rings the door bell and when Bonnie opens it she finds Jill standing there saying that since Andy is not ready to have a baby yet she will freeze her eggs and have a baby whenever she wants. So, her doctor has prescribed a series of fertility shots and she needs a partner to help her with it. She asks Christy if she wants to assist her to what her friend immediately agrees. Bonnie doesn’t think is a good idea and recommends to ask Wendy or Andy to do it, but Christy tells her to let her enjoy that she was finally picked for something. Also, Jill has decided not to say anything to Andy.

Jill is ready to get her first shot and wants to be sure that Christy has practiced enough for it. At first Jill is not making it easy for her friend since she says that she has always been afraid of needles, but Christy tells her that she should feel really lucky given that not everyone can afford a treatment like that. Jill asks her if she would want to do it with her,but Christy is not sure and also she knows she might never be able to pay for it. Jill says that she is like a sister to her so she would gladly pay for her treatment, something that makes her friend very emotional. Jill says that she is finally ready for the shot, but Christy tells her that she has already injected her.

Adam and Bonnie are enjoying a grilled cheese sandwich at the kitchen when Christy walks in saying that she was not able to sleep all night after Jill offered herself to pay for her fertility treatment in case she was interested. Bonnie is surprised at it and asks her if she really wants to do it, but Christy is not so sure about it given the process seems to be very invasive. Adam begins to feel uncomfortable by the conversation and decides to take Gus for a walk. The two women keep discussing how would it be like if Christy would go for the treatment and when it would be a good opportunity to have another baby. Although, Christy admits that she would really like to do it all over again now that she is finally sober, it seems that there is no “good time” in the near future for her to do so. So, the two of them conclude that what she really wants is to focus fully on her career, but she is rushing into taking decisions just because she was not selected for moot court.

Jill shows up at her kitchen wearing a floral dress and asks Natalie (Karen Malina White), her housekeeper, if she looks alright in it. Natalie tells her that the dress suits her very well, but Jill doesn’t seem to be very convinced about it. Right that moment Andy walks in and offers a compliment about her looks but Jill thinks he is just lying. He wants to know if she is alright since he feels as though she has been all “Judy Garland” lately and Jill gets offended asking him if he thinks she is crazy. He says that he feels she’s been under a lot of stress and he just wanted to make sure she is alright. Jill ends up confessing him that she’s been going under a fertility treatment and has decided to freeze her eggs. She tells him that she didn’t want him to feel like she was pushing him into having a baby and that is why she kept it a secret for him. Andy says that even though he doesn’t feel ready to be a father yet, when he pictures his future she is definitely in it. So, he suggests that maybe they should do it on their own time and be sure they are making it right to what Jill agrees.

Jill has invited her friends to the spa as a way to celebrate Wendy, but it turns out that none of them invited her so she didn’t attend. They are having fun and enjoying each other’s company when Jill gets a call from her fertility doctor saying that none of her eggs were viable. The women try to comfort her and ask her if she wants to go home but she says that she’d like to be with her friends instead.
