The episode opens with Christy (Anna Farris) and Bonnie (Allison Janney) in their kitchen getting ready for the day. Bonnie made Christy a first day of law school breakfast and snacks. She has a speech prepared, but Christy keeps interrupting to tell her own story of how proud she is of herself. She leaves for school, but not before dropping her bag. While she cleans up, Bonnie finally gives her speech.

Later on that day, the ladies are at a meeting. Jill (Jaime Pressly) talks about a new doctor she met. She told him she is four months sober, but he is willing to wait for her. She is also glad he is a dermatologist because he can make her younger, like a vampire. Bonnie talks about her wedding planning when Christy walks in. Bonnie talks about how sobriety changed her and made her feel worthy of love. Christy shares about her first day of law school, which was terrifying. We get a flashback of her first day where the professor talks about how some might not survive. She goes on to talk about how she feels overwhelmed and law school had her hit the ground running.

At home, Adam ( William Fichtner) is having a beer when Bonnie reminds him they are looking at wedding venues. She is annoyed he forgot that, but remembers basketball games from four years ago, making her and the wedding feel unimportant. He says it will be the best day of his life, not matter what. He gives her free reign to plan it with no complaints. She jokes she wants a mime to officiate, but he reminds her she is afraid of them.

Christy is at work and ready to leave when her boss tells her she has to stay. She reminds him she has to study, but he doesn’t care for he is worried about his crumbling marriage. She stays, but she isn’t happy.

Bonnie wakes up from a dream, thinking Adam is cheating on her with Louise from Trader Joes. She leaves in a huff because she dreamed they were doing it on preached lettuce.

Christy comes home and the ladies vent about their nights. Christy goes to study when she realizes she left her bag at work. She doesn’t have a key, so they decide to sneak in using a bobby pin. When that doesn’t work, they try going through the window, causing the alarm to go off, Bonnie to run and Christy to be stuck. Bonnie comes back and tells her to jump and she will catch her, but she instead lets her fall.

At school, the professor (John Rubenstein) calls on Christy who is unprepared for class. He makes her read the missed assignment while the class watches.

At home, Christy tells Adam and Bonnie about her day. Adam tells her not to worry about it since he’s talking to lawyers and knows what they are like. Bonnie wonders why he is talking to one and tells him she has her own. Frustrated, Christy says that they are not listening and goes to be with Gus the dog.

Bonnie has another dream about Adam and Louise (Stephanie Erb) and tells the girls about it the next day at the diner. She knows Adam isn’t cheating and admits she spied on Louise, only to find out she is a lesbian.

Marjorie (Mimi Kennedy) asks her if she really went there to spy, so Bonnie justifies it by saying she was already going there for was peas. Wendy (Beth Hall) says she never dreams and sleep is an eight hour preview of death. Bonnie says serial killers also don’t dream.

Christy wants to go to the meeting and admits she is quitting law school because it is too hard.Everyone wants Marjorie to help, but Christy won’t budge. She also tells Bonnie the dreams are her way of saying she really wants Adam to help her with the wedding.

Marjorie says Christy climbed so many mountains and got through those hurdles already. This is just one more.

At the meeting, a new girl named Amanda (Maya Lynne Robinson) talks about her struggle and how this is her first meeting. This leads Christy to remember her own first meeting. Christy watches Amanda and realizes she still has hope to finish law school. Before she leaves for class, she gives Amanda her number.

The show ends with Bonnie admitting to Adam that she wants his help planning the wedding. Adam tells her yes and that he wants to get married on a boat. Bonnie says no and no more Trader Joe’s.  Adam says Louise is a lesbian. Bonnie wonders how he knew that and he says it was in the newsletter.
