Q) How would you describe your sound?

A) I would say it’s definitely pop with a hint of rock and urban influence.

Q) Who are some of your musical influences?

A) Celine Dion, Chris Brown!

Q) Talk about the story behind your new song “Lately.”

A) I was on a date and we had been drinking…My session was right after the date, so it felt appropriate to sing about it. The lyrics are exactly what I felt in the moment.

Q) What do you think it is about the song that fans connect to?

A) I think that the story is very relatable…Drinking in NYC with your crush and your thoughts of insecurity like, “Does he like me the way I like him? Is he feeling this the way I do?” It’s in everyone’s mind when they start catching feelings. I think people relate to it because I was just being honest.

Q) How does the video for the track play into the message behind it?

A) The idea behind the video is to create this illusion of a dream. The whole video is in my head. It’s my thoughts, my hopes, my desire for him. It’s a very creative video and I’m proud of it.

Q) What is your song-writing process? Do you need music before you can create lyrics?

A) My favorite is when I’m vibing to the track or chords and I can create the top line closing my eyes in the vocal booth. I love it when I can tap into the song and it feels like it just needs my direction but the main vibe is already there.

Q) How much of hand do you have in the production of your music?

A) I respect the people I work with and trust their vision for our songs…I usually describe something that I want to hear and arrange vocals and harmonies, but most of the instrumentation is up to the producers.

Q) Will there be a full EP or album coming in the near future?

A) Yes! I am very excited. There are three more songs in the works and I can’t wait to announce a date of arrival for the full EP! Will be closer to summer 2020.

Q) You’ve toured with Trans-Siberian Orchestra and opened for John Legend. What can fans expect from a live Nafsica performance?

A) I’m all about the vocals. I want to deliver the songs in a way you can let the voice take you places. I want to tell a story and I want people to be able to hear me clearly. Rock sounds and acoustic sets of storytelling and dynamic vocals is what people can expect from me.

Q) Where are some of your favorite places to perform and what makes those locations so significant to you?

A) I love performing at Rockwood Music Hall as it’s one of the first stages to host me since I was a teenager. I have yet to conquer bigger stages like the Bowery Electric or Mercury Lounge and those are in my goals for the near future.

Q) Who would you most like to collaborate with on a song in the future?

A) Celine Dion and Charlie Puth. Both are very different, but they are both my dream collaborators.

Q) What album/band are you currently listening to and why do you dig them?

A) I’ve been listening to a lot of Dan + Shay. Their style of music relaxes me and their songs are super catchy.

Q) You are a part of social media. Why is that such an important way for you to connect with your fans?

A) I feel we live in an era where fans get to see your everyday life. It can be intimidating seeing everything, but I feel fans get to connect on a deeper level and see the artist as their friend. It’s exciting!

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who is a fan and supporter of you and your work?

A) Thank you for following and being part of my journey. Nothing is more important than the fans! I love every single person that connects through my music and there’s a special bond between us. Fans keep me going and make it all worth it. Thank you!
