Q) What made you want to be a part of the series “Tiny Pretty Things?”

A) To be honest, we didn’t get to know the title of the show until I got the call that I landed a role on it. I knew the audition was for “Untitled Ballet Project” and I auditioned not expecting to land the role I auditioned for. When I found out more about the project, I was very intrigued with the world, relationships and genre of the show. It’s a very interesting dance drama and I was really excited to dive into that world and my character.

Q) What was your audition like for the series?

A) I sent in my self tape audition as well as my dance tape audition for one of the lead characters, Cassie, and then heard back that I booked the recurring role of Paige Aquino. It was definitely a lot simpler than some of my other auditions.

Q) How was your character Paige originally described to you?

A) The role was originally described as being a committed dancer at the school. I was told by the producer that she is an important catalyst in the story because of her storyline. I loved that there was room for me to paint her in detail and bring aspects of myself to her.

Q) Was there anything you added to her that wasn’t in her initial breakdown?

A) I added charisma and spunk. I knew from her first line, “Gather around people! The goods have just arrived!” that she had to be bubbly and fun.

Q) Were you familiar with any of your co-stars before working with them on the show?

A) I knew the actor who plays Topher Brooks (Shaun Benson) from a workshop I did. I didn’t know anyone else. They were from many different parts of the world like Canada, Australia, Chicago, New York, UK and Los Angeles, so it was a great experience working with everyone.

Q) What episodes do you feel challenged you the most to film?

A) The episodes that challenged me the most are seven and nine. In episode seven, my character goes through quite the trauma and I had to portray that as honest and authentic as possible. Going through that with the character is challenging. Episode 9 was challenging in a good way as I got to do a cool nightmare scene with Lauren Holly who’s such an expert at her craft.

Q) How did you shake off a long day of shooting the series?

A) I honestly enjoy shooting so much that it often doesn’t feel like work to me, so I’m super grateful for that. However, during those long days, I’ll come home, listen to music and take a bath. You are a part of social media.

Q) What kind of fan response have you received to the show?

A) It was amazing to see the response of the show from fans. The show has so many fans and I even found out that I have a little fan base who call themselves “The Huffies.” They draw me and make photo and video edits of my Instagram photos that brighten my day and make me smile. I love that there are people out there who recognize the show and my work.

Q) What do you think it is about “Tiny Pretty Things” that has made it a fast standout series?

A) I think it jumped to the number one show on Netflix so quickly because a lot of people gravitate towards a show full of diverse people with interesting storylines and character development. The dancers and actors on the show are super talented. The dancing is stunning, and the show is also full of drama and is steamy so it keeps viewers excited.

Q) What are the other upcoming projects that you are busy working on?

A) I worked on a show called “Pretty Hard Cases,” which was a great experience. I’m also working on my original pop EP music that I’m super excited about. It’s inspired by artists I grew up listening to as well as experiences I’ve been through. It’s fun and I can’t wait to share. I also signed with an incredible team of Managers and Agents in Los Angeles which has been a dream of mine, so I’m excited to get opportunities.

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who are fans and supporters of you and the work you do?

A) I’d like to say I love you so much. Thank you for recognizing me, my work and thank you for your support and beautiful edits and artwork. I hope to continue inspiring you to be happy and never give up on your dreams.
