Q) How would you describe your sound?

A) It changes so much song to song, but recently I would say- dream pop, meets synth wave!

Q) Who are some of your musical influences?

A) I grew up listening to Imogen Heap, Florence and The Machine, Lauryn Hill and lots of 90s music.

Q) Talk about the stories behind your songs “Top Down Honey” and “Electricity.”

A) “Top Down Honey” was written after our move up here to Oregon. We decided to just uproot our lives in LA and start a new adventure. It was very exciting and freeing to take that leap.

And “Electricity” is just one of those feel good tunes. We’ve all had such a bizarre and unsettling year, I just wanted to release something that was super positive and happy go lucky.  Gotta put out that good energy! [smiles]

Q) What do you think it is about your music that fans connect to?

A) Well, I like to sing in a lot of different moods and genres. This really opens the door to possible connection on many levels. In “Can’t Love Me” many have experienced deep heartbreak, so they can connect there. But with my novelty song “Snacks,” lots of peeps truly do enjoy a good snack just like me. So, there’s that connection! It’s so amazing what people end up connecting with and discovering. We are all so similar in certain ways emotionally. It’s awesome to connect via music. That’s all I know for sure!

Q) How does the video for the track play into the message behind it?

A) I just wanted to create something that portrays the vibe and communication of the song. I focus less on the details and more on the feeling of the track and if that’s being portrayed throughout.

Q) What is your song writing process? Do you need music before you can create lyrics?

A) I often write tracks (music) in song form. But sometimes I’ll sit down with my guitar and just sing whatever comes to me. Other times I’ll be driving in my car and randomly start belting out an idea! I have hundreds of voice memos of song ideas I randomly get through the day.

Q) How much of a hand do you have in the production of your music?

A) Lately, I’ve had a small hand in the production. Because I’m doing most of my sessions remotely, I’ve had to learn a thing or two about vocal production. I’ve been producing some of my own vocals which is cool. But that’s about it so far! I’d love to get way better and explore that aspect this next year.

Q) With such intensity to your music, how do you shake off a long day in the studio?

A) I love to take baths! It’s so relaxing mentally and physically. So, that’s truly my go to!

Q) Will there be a full album or EP coming in the near future?

A) Yes! So excited to release my EP in January. It will have these recent singles and a few more.

Q) You’ve had a number of your songs featured on some popular TV series. How does that make you feel?

A) That makes me feel so wonderful! I’m so grateful when that happens. It’s like a gift from the heavens. It’s such a motivating force for me to keep creating and working hard.

Q) Where are some of your favorite places to perform and what makes those locations so significant to you?

A) I love playing at Bardot in H That was the location of one of my first ever shows in LA. It was the first time ever truly feeling comfortable and powerful singing my own songs on stage. It’s definitely imprinted in my mind forever more.

Q) Who would you most like to collaborate with on a song in the future?

A) Oh my, so many. To name a few – Amy Shark, Noga Erez, Dermont Kennedy and Halsey!

Q) What album/band are you currently listening to and why do you dig them?

A) Every morning I listen to a project called Elephant Heart on my morning walk. Their music is almost spiritual to me! It’s a world Electronic collective. Unlike anything I’ve ever heard. You gotta go check them out!

Q) You are a part of social media. Why is that such an important way for you to connect with your fans?

A) It’s important because these days we need human interaction and attention. I love to connect with all sorts of people and social media is a great space for that.

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who is a fan and supporter of you and your work?

A) Honestly, I would have to thank them over the moon and back. It’s been a real journey and without the support of my friends, family and fans alike I wouldn’t be here for sure. Oh and I really love you guys.
