Q) Last time we interviewed you, you described your sound as “catchy pop melodies fused with alternative waves.” How has it evolved since then?

A) My sound will definitely always have the same foundation of my songwriting style and vocal tone; however, this new music sonically has a slight R&B/hyper pop infusion!

Q) Talk about the story behind your new single “VIBE CHECK.”

A) This song came together very effortlessly. AJ and I were vibing to a beat loop and I came up with a few melodies. We found ourselves totally sidetracked mid-session goofing “Gen Z Slag” and the term “vibe check” inspired us…We ended up using that phrase in our chorus and it led to the title of the track! Beyond the lyrics, I’ve been finding myself diving into more genres lately and loving artists like PinkPantheress, FKA Twigs, etc.

Q) “VIBE CHECK” is a collaboration with internationally renowned artist Bhad Bhabie. How did the two of you connect?

A) I’ve been a fan of Bhad Bhabie’s music for a while now. When I was scrolling on TikTok one day with a potential feature in mind, one of her vids popped up. We reached out and the rest is history!

Q) What made her the perfect person to feature on the track?

A) Her confident and unapologetic nature felt very well suited for “VIBE CHECK.”

Q) “VIBE CHECK” is such a fun track & an undeniably empowering single and it has become such a summer hit! What do you hope people take away from it?

A) I hope this song brings people joy, positivity and good energy!! This song is perfect to play as you’re getting ready to go out. I hope this gives whoever needs it a confidence boost!

Q) Since your debut EP you have collectively amassed more than 15 million global streams and garnered media support from the likes of iHeartRadio, Billboard, Official Charts, Paper, UPROXX, Refinery29, Nylon, Pride, Sweety High, and Parade among many others. What does it mean to you to be getting more recognition for your music?

A) Receiving recognition from such established sources is truly surreal. I have distinct memories of reading articles on these exact sites about my favorite artists growing up. To be featured on them as an artist and songwriter, myself, is a dream.  I’m truly just getting started and cannot wait to continue on my beautifully chaotic musical journey!

Q) After your debut EP came your self-titled debut album with tracks like “Worth it,” “Crazy Love,” “The Walls,” “Cold Coffee” and many more. Is there a title that stands out or that was harder to record or one that still holds a special place in your heart?

A) “The Walls” will always hold an incredibly special place in my heart. I wrote this after leaving a weird relationship and writing the lyrics was a very cathartic and necessary process for me!

Q) What album/band are you currently listening to and why do you dig them?

A) I’ve been loving FKA Twigs, Kasablanca and Brent Faiyaz.

Q) Who would you most like to collab with on a song in the future?

A) Rosalia or Lucky Daye!

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who are fans and supporters of you and the music you make?

A) Thank you for listening. <3 It’s one thing to make and appreciate your own art…But to share it with others and have their mutual appreciation and enjoyment is beyond priceless. All my love!! More music on its way. Very soon.
