Q) How would you describe your sound?

A) It’s electronic, it’s organic, it’s a vibe.

Q) Who are some of your musical influences?

A) Muse, Daft Punk, Massive Attack, Calvin Harris, Smashing Pumpkins

Q) Talk about the story behind your new song “Stay With You.”

A) That one was so much fun. I’ve known Cooper for a few years now, but we never released a song together. So, we finally got to talking about it and the minute we sat down and started to right, viola, a song appeared. We both knew it was a tune and we needed to get it out to the world.

Q) What do you think it is about the song that fans connect to?

A) I think it’s wavy and a real chill, easy listen. A lot of my songs and influences have this climax and sudden swings but stay with you gets to a climax in such a chill way and it moves you into it.

Q) How did you come to work with Cooper Phillip on the track?

A) We’ve known each other awhile and this tune was basically all written the same day we decided to write something new.

Q) How does the video for the track play into the message behind it?

A) The video was interesting because we wanted to tell a story and I think with the actors we got to a place where we captured that confusion and longing you feel when you aren’t sure if a relationship is gonna work out or not.

Q) What is your songwriting process? Do you need music before you can create lyrics?

A) Yes. For “Stay With You” I started with some chords and had some melody ideas floating and that’s %90 of how I work these days. I usually like chords first and then Melody and then lyrics, but sometimes a synth sound or weird sample inspires me.

Q) How much of hand do you have in the production of your music?

A) I do all the production and mixing myself, definitely on “Stay With You” and on my last EP Butterfly Feels. I even played guitar, bass, keys and percussion on those tracks. I do love working with other producers though and when it’s right it’s right.

Q) What can fans expect from a live Oscar Del Amor performance?

A) A DJ set with all kind of moods. I like to play bangers and mean stuff and then I like to get really emotional, too. And it’s super fun when the crowd lets me take them there. I’ve been thinking about doing a live band interpretation of the songs for YouTube or something.

Q) Will there be a full EP or album coming in the near future?

A) Yes!!! Album is almost done, will likely release it in the first few months of 2019.

Q) Where are some of your favorite places to perform and what makes those locations so significant to you?

A) I love warehouses and hotels and festivals and underground parties. Anywhere where people come to catch a vibe.

Q) Who would you most like to collaborate with on a song in the future?

A) Dream collaboration would be Santana, Muse, Calvin Harris, or Eminem. Something wild.

Q) What album/band are you currently listening to and why do you dig them?

A) Right now, it’s a lot of Massive Attack, Prodigy and Drake. It’s moody beats that are also dope.

Q) Why is social media such an important way for you to connect with your fans?

A) Honestly, I’m still surprised when a fan reaches out and says nice words or I see them follow me on every single platform. It still gives me that wow feeling that people connect to it. And I make myself available for these people. I write back. I check out their page, their songs and get into their world a bit too because to me ultimately the people listening and liking and vibing the music are number one.

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who is a fan and supporter of you and your work?

A) Thank you thank you thank you thank you! Let’s stay connected!
