Q) How would you describe your sound?

A) Rock/Metal

Q) Who are some of your musical influences?

A) As just a musician, like many, Kurt Cobain/Nirvana, Trent Reznor, Billy Corgan, Metallica, Soundgarden, Rage Against The Machine.

Q) Talk about the story behind your new song “Broken Bones.”

A) “Broken Bones” is about understanding yourself, knowing and loving yourself for all that you are. That you will not conform to popular belief or trends and understanding that others will either respect or dislike you because of it. For the “outliers.”

Q) What do you think it is about the song that fans connect to?

A) Musically, it’s more of an upbeat song with a catchy hook and a melodic bridge.

Lyrically, perhaps about building self-confidence and appreciating everything that makes an individual feel whole.

Q) How does the video for the track play into the message behind it?

A) It’s a live performance from one of our dates on tour showing our fans enjoying themselves. That’s all we cared to see and showcase.

Q) What is your song writing process? Do you need music before you can create lyrics?

A) Often, I will get lyrical ideas, both melody and lyrically when out and about and feel the need to plug into my phone. When in the studio, we will write based off of emotion and lyrically feel it out after.

Q) How much of hand do you have in the production of your music?

A) Both hands!

Q) What can fans expect from a live Ovtlier performance?

A) They will just have to come to a show and find out!

Q) What songs off your What Doesn’t Kill You EP are you looking forward to performing live?

A) We perform the whole EP live!

Q) What do you hope listeners take away from listening to your new EP as a whole?

A) That we all live a life of ups and downs, love and hate, sometimes feeling lost and found. That nobody is in this journey of life alone and that we can either choose to let our struggles swallow us whole or we can choose to adapt and evolve into the people that we want to be.

Q) Where are some of your favorite places to perform and what makes those locations so significant to you?

A) The Warped Tour because nothing is like having so many friends out on the road with you. Same goes for any other festivals if friends with the other bands. Specific cities in the US would be NYC, LA, Dallas, Boston, D.C. – way too many to name and that’s all because I’m a huge fan of sight-seeing.

Q) Who would you most like to collaborate with on a song in the future?

A) It would be awesome to collaborate with Corey Taylor, Jonathan Davis and Chino Moreno. Dustin Kensrue and Rob Zombie. Actually…way too many to name. Too much talent out there…

Q) What album/band are you currently listening to and why do you dig them?

A) The most recent stuff (which isn’t so recent) would be Korn’s “The Serenity of Suffering” and Ded’s “Mis-An-Thrope.”

Q) You are a part of social media. Why is that such an important way for you to connect with your fans?

A) It’s because we live in a digital world now and it’s the quickest means of keeping fans up to date. We also enjoy interaction with our fans as we try to live on both Instagram and Facebook every Monday at 9pm (EST) for some Q&A’s and positive topics of discussion.

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who is a fan and supporter of you and your work?

A) We give so much thanks to every individual that supports, works for or gets beside this band. We wouldn’t be able to continue without you.
