PETRA – Dancing Without You

By  |
“Dancing Without You was inspired by the death of my father, who passed away three years ago unexpectedly from stage VI lung cancer. What made it all so shocking was losing him two months after the diagnosis. After he passed, I didn’t know how to carry on, and live my life the way I used to. However, knowing my father, I knew that he never wanted me to stop doing everything I loved and achieving my dreams. This album is about experiencing growth from grief, going through all five stages and ranges of emotions, and learning how to ‘dance’ again. Named after my first single, Dancing Without You, both the song and album represent the ideas of learning to live life again even after one of the worst imaginable tragedies.” – Petra

Exploring loss (and triumph) through the lens of alternative pop, Dancing Without You is an album that shows growth from front to back and solidifies Petra as one of the brightest up and coming stars in NYC. The album was co-produced by Richie Beretta (Beyonce, Major Lazer, Dillon Fancis, Kiesza) & mastered by the legendary Scott Hull with Dave Kutch taking over on “Wonderland.” All instrumentals by Petra, Richie Beretta and Felix Jarrar. Album artwork by Orlando Mendiola.
Dancing Without You is available worldwide on November 15th, 2019.
