Q) How would you describe yourself as an artist?

A) Someone who wants to be remembered for WHO I am and not WHAT I am.  I would describe myself as someone who wasn’t necessarily born with all the talent but worked extremely hard for what I do have.  Someone who wakes up every single day thankful to be living a dream that’s completely contingent on all the amazing people that believe in me and support me.

Q) Who are some of your musical influences?

A) Dierks Bentley is my #1 influence because he will never be the guy that goes on crazy vocal runs, but there’s something about the honesty in his voice that draws you in and makes you believe every word he sings.

Q) What motivated you to create “Bad Girl?”

A) I decided to cut “Bad Girl” because I was continually being asked what my idea of the perfect woman would be and “Bad Girl” describes that perfectly with lines like “I got a bad bad girl but a good good woman.”

Q) What lyrics do you connect to most?

A) I’ve always really loved the line “no need to go lookin’ when I got what I need” because when you find the right girl that’s got the perfect combination you don’t need anything else.

Q) You describe your dream girl as someone you can take home to your mom, but flips a switch when the doors are closed. How does “Bad Girl” reflect that?

A) I think the entire song “Bad Girl” is that constant push and pull and hugging the line of a woman that walks the line between keeping her man on his toes but also being that girl that he’s proud to introduce to the family.  “That undercover devil that the preacher can’t see.”

Q) What was it like recording this?

A) This song was super fun to record because it really allows for a lot of emotions.  It’s a pretty rockin song which always makes the studio fun because it fits my voice a little more naturally than some others.  It was recorded by Matt Hinshaw and he’s always a great vibe guy in the studio.

Q) What’s been your favorite part of creating this?

A) My favorite part has just been the amazing people I’ve had the chance of working on this song with along the process.

Q) Were there any challenges when recording this song?

A) I don’t know that this song necessarily provided many challenges.  This song is very much in my wheelhouse of vocal style, but each song in the studio has been a great learning experience to try and get better.

Q) What goes through your mind when you sing this?

A) This question made me laugh because of the nature of this song.  Most of the time when I sing this song, I sing certain lines and have to make sure I’m not making eye contact for too long with people in the crowd because the song can get pretty edgy!  This is always my walk-on song, so usually the vibes are ten out of ten in my mind getting the crowd started on the right foot!

Q) What instruments did you use for this?

A) Being a pretty rockin’ song, this song is fairly straight forward. Drums, layers of electric rhythm and lead, bass and a good amount of electronic percussion sounds.

Q) Which equipment did you end up using for this?

A) As far as the equipment, that’s all on the producer!  The joys of being an artist to me are that I don’t have to worry about the equipment, but more the end product and I let the more tech savvy people figure out the equipment!

Q) How about the projects coming up? What can we expect?

A) I have so many projects in the works!  Singles, potential albums, new producers, a new sound, music videos and so much more!  It’s looking like another single release I Hope You Remember will be out mid Spring!

Q) What would you like to say to your fans?

A) I just want to say thank you. Things have grown so much in the past few years and at times it feels overwhelming because as things grow it becomes harder and harder to properly thank EACH person that supports me. To anybody that’s ever shared my music with their friends, shared on social media, come to a show or supported any way, I would like to say a personal THANK YOU to each of you.  I truly am nothing without YOU.
