Q) What can you tease is new this season on “Ghostwriter?”

A) There are many serious topics that are showcased in this season. For example, my character Nia gets racially profiled and throughout the show you can see her character development and growth from that horrible experience.

Q) Were you familiar with “Ghostwriter” before you joined the show?

A) I actually did not know of “Ghostwriter” before auditioning. After I found out the name, I definitely watched some clips of the old seasons and original series!

Q) How was the role of Nia initially described to you?

A) Nia was described as a girl who’s not used of being taken out of her comfort zone. She had a mentality of doing thing on her own and is more to herself. So, when she has to go on this mystery with Samir (Nour Assaf) and Charli (Daire McLeod), it’s difficult for her to learn how to be a part of a team.

Q) What made you want to be a part of the show?

A) I wanted to be a part of “Ghostwriter” as soon as I auditioned for the role! I was fascinated by the whole show and its plot! Especially after reading the script, I couldn’t have been more excited to work on this season.

Q) What were some of the challenges of playing Nia?

A) A challenge I had while playing Nia was constantly staying in her mode. I’m used to being all talkative and interacting all the time, but Nia loves her own company.

Q) In what ways are you similar to Nia? Or if not, what characteristicsof hers do you wish you had?

A) Nia and I have many differences and a few similarities. We’re similar because we both play video games and can naturally lead a group. It’s not hard for either of us to think on our feet. Unfortunately, I did also experience racism. Even though we have a few things common, I wished I could be braver like Nia. There are times when I don’t express how I feel or my emotions, but I’m learning just like Nia that you have to let it out.

Q) Were you familiar with any of your costars before working with them on the show?

A) I did not know any of my costars before working on the show, but it wasn’t hard to create a bond with them. As soon as I got into the chemistry call with Nour and Daire, I knew they were the ones. I always enjoyed myself while working with the whole crew and cast.

Q) What were some of your favorite scenes to film or most memorable moments from working on for “Ghostwriter?”

A) Although I loved all the different places and books we explored, one of my favorite scenes must be the one when Nia, Samir and Charli sneak onto the boat. Off camera, we had tons of laughs while filming all the Mami Wata scenes. I really enjoyed the different locations, especially the boat scenes.

Q) What do you think it is about this show that continues to make it such a fan favorite?

A) “Ghostwriter” isn’t a show that is just a mystery. It’s a show that gives you the chance to expand your imagination, learn about real life experiences and feel the power of books.

Q) What are some other projects that you are working on?

A) I’m currently writing a short film about a teenager who deals with substance abuse. I’ve seen lots of teens struggle with that issue and I want to spread awareness about it.

Q) What would you like to say to your fans and supporters?

A) Thank you for watching “Ghostwriter” Season 3! I hope it inspires you to pick up a book and dive into it. Reading is a way to escape into another world and you should try it. To all the people out there who can relate to Nia, just know that you are not alone. Some things happen and you can choose for it to either make you weaker or stronger.
